What song is stuck in your head right now?

“I’m Set Free” by the Velvet Underground.

It’s a song my friend made up and where I got my user name from:

To the tune of Barbie Girl

I’m a hardygrrl
In a Hardy world
Life in plastic
Fantastic
I can brush Jeff’s hair
Undress him everywhere

A song about my celebrity crush-that’s why Brian’s one of my best friends.

He also wrote-to rhe tune of Mambo #5

A little bit of Jeffy in my life.
A little bit of Matty by my side
A little bit of Hardys is all I need
Team Extreme action’s all I see
Try to get THAT out of your head.

Lady by Modjo
Lady, hear me tonight
cause my feeling is just so right
as we dance by the moonlight
can’t you see you’re my delight

Lady, I just feel like
I won’t get you out of my mind
I feel love for the first time
and I know that it’s true
I can tell by the look in your eyes

I can’t not dance when I listen to this song. It’s a pure impossibility, I tell ya.

Thanks to a discussion in chat this morning “U Can’t Touch This” by MC Hammer…“Stop Hammer time…”

Keith

The ragamuffin gunner is returnin’ home like a hungry runaway
He walks through town all alone
He must be from the fort he hears the high school girls say
His countryside’s burnin’ with wolfman fairies dressed in drag for homicide
The hit and run, plead sanctuary, `neath a holy stone they hide
They’re breakin’ beams and crosses with a spastic’s reelin’ perfection
nuns run bald through Vatican halls pregnant, pleadin’ immaculate conception
And everybody’s wrecked on Main Street from drinking unholy blood
Sticker smiles sweet as gunner breathes deep, his ankles caked in mud
And I said “Hey, gunner man, that’s quicksand, that’s quicksand that ain’t mud
Have you thrown your senses to the war or did you lose them in the flood?”

Bruce Springsteen, Lost in the Flood

(His new live CD comes out Tuesday, but I got it early. Yes, I’m happy, and yes, I’m bragging.)

Strangely enough it’s the theme to threes company.

Well, HerMajestyLorna, I had Ain’t No Sunshine and quite a few other Bill Withers songs stuck in my head yesterday (not surprisingly, since I’m a fan).
But as of right now I have The Real Folk Blues and Tank! from Cowboy Bebop stuck in my head (not that I mind, though).

I’ve spent the last ten years listening almost exclusively to classical music, but for the last month I’ve devoted Sunday afternoons to metal.

I’ve never known the name of it, and have at best discerned about 6 words of the lyrics; it’s that ~20 year old Ozzy tune that starts with Aiy, Aiy, Aiy, Aiy,

Beatle,
Crazy Train is the name of the song.

Thank you, hardygrrl!

Am I wrong in my perception that the metal station’s playlists rotate through only about 20 tunes? It just seems like I hear the same ones quite often (some new, some 10-20 years old).

…Lift up the receiver
I’ll make you a believer…

–from “Personal Jesus,” by Depeche Mode

“Raindrops keep falling on my head…”

The entire album The Wall by Pink Floyd…

This is an eeeeevil thread. My head is going to explode with all the bits and pieces of songs in my head.

What’s in there now?

  1. The Cure–Strange Attraction
  2. The Cure–Just Like Heaven
  3. The Cure–Pictures of You
(yes, The Cure’s CD Galore is in my CD player)
  4. Dishwalla–Charlie Brown’s Parents
  5. The Cranberries–Desparate Andy
  6. The Cranberries–Animal Instincts

I think that is all for right now, but I do real an urge to listen to Personal Jesus by Depeche Mode…that song always makes me feel like being naughty (said in a slightly british tone). “Reach out and touch faith.” muhahahaha.

“You’re Nothing Without Me,” from the musical City of Angels, as sung by Barry Williams.

HOW INPORTANT CAN IT BE-----I was just in a thread that was talking about Sarah Vaughn. LOL.
Have to go play the record now.

“Mezzanine” - Massive Attack

we’ll go til morning comes, the traffic grows, the windows hum…

Aimee Mann. “Well, it’s not going to stop… no, it’s not going to stop…”

For some reason, i often have the theme tune to “I Dream of Jeannie” in my head.

And of course, Do-dooo-de-do-do Mnah MNAH… god bless those Muppets.

Today though, we have the lovely Shaggy and “Caught Red handed” ::shame::

Fran

Right now it’s “Say it ain’t so” by Weezer.
