What's been stuck in your head?

For the last few days the Dido section of Eminem’s “Stan” has been stuck in my head. It doesn’t matter what other song I hear, it always been “Even if I could it’d all be gray, but you’re picture on the wall reminds me that it’s not so bad, it’s not so bad”.

I like the Eminem song “Stan”, but that’s not the point. It’s the Dido section that end’s up stuck in my head all day.

So what have you been singing to yourself when you’re trying to think of something else?

When I saw the thread title, I was all set to tell the story about the time the tip of the Deer Arrow got lodged in my skull ahemHONEST!

Now, I see that that would have been misplaced. (quick study)

My best relational story: I had a roommate who was getting his PhD in Pop-Culture (Dissertation title: “Would that be for here or to go?” ). He was sometimes an annoying little cuss so, just to drive him crazy, I’d hum the Jeopardy theme song for a minute or so. Days later, he’d still have that little ditty in his noggin, cursing the day I was born. Ah, to have such a reason to live!

That Britney Spears song, “…I’m stronger than yesterday…”.

Lord knows how it got there 'cause I don’t listen to pop radio.

I woke up this morning with it running through my head.

Aaarrgggg!

Hank Williams Sr. - Your cheating heart.

Im a jewish from New Jersey, I don’t think have Hank Williams stuck in my head is normal!

jew from new jersey rather… I didn’t catch it is time.

That damn “there’s a hole in the bucket” since someone started a MPSIMS thread about it a few days ago. I’m in hell.

‘Cabaret’

Specifically, “Tomorrow Belongs to Me”. I don’t even have the right words.

‘The sun in the meadow runs free’

[sub]please make it stop.[sub]

I’ve got a girl stuck in my head.

We’ve become really good freinds, she’s 6’5" and I’m 5’10", and I realized that she is actually very attractive.

I’m married, bu damn there is something about her that is sexy. I think I’ve even fantasized.

Okay…maybe I need to get a SONG stuck in my head…

Item of the week
Item of the week
It’s a new item every week

Priced so low, you can’t say no
The selection just can’t be beat

(Wayne Newton for Old Navy)

I’ve ALWAYS got some lame-ass song stuck in my head. Lately it’s been that “I want to get freaky with you” song by Keith Sweat. It’s torture. I don’t understand why I only get songs that annoy the living poo out of me stuck in my head. I wish you could selectively erase your memory - I’d get rid of all those horrible Styx and Motley Crue songs floating around in my cranium.

Yep, I saw the thread title and was going to tell about the time I had to have a piece of metal removed from my middle ear.

But, back to the OP, I currently have “The Gambler” stuck in my head (you’ve got to know when to hold 'em … know when to fold 'em …) and it’s been there for the past week. The worst part is that it’s my own fault. Someone at work mentioned that he always got songs stuck in his head after he heard a snippet, so we kept trying to sing lines from the most torture-inducing songs we could think of. This one riccocheted or something, and now it’s stuck in my head!

And now it’s stuck in mine. Thanks a lot.

Goddam, Owl, I had “Tomorrow Belongs to Me” stuck in my head yesterday! I always thought it was "the hag in the forest runs free . . . "

Today it’s the last song I listened to while I was getting ready this morning: “Lovin’ Sam, the Sheik of Alabam’.”

“Does he step? Does he strut?
That’s what he doesn’t do nothin’ else but!
Could you love like Lovin’ Sam, you could have your eggs and ham
In the finest kitchens down in Alabam’—
And though he’s just a valet for horses, he’s the cause of many divorces;
They all love Lovin’ Sam, the Sheik of Alabam’.”

No problem, any time. Just remember, you have to know when to walk away, and know when to run …

“The stag in the forest runs free.”
I think?
(Why would a sun run through a meadow is what I wanna’ know.)

Now I have to go back to the costume shop and play it again so I can at least have the little voices in my head singing the right words.
[voice full of admiration]
Eve, I just want to say, you always have the best recommendations for songs, movies and calendars. Thank you!
[/voice, retain admiration]

Well, up until quite recently, when I got to work, actually, it’s been some stupid “Men at Work” song - I do not remember the name, but it has something to do with vegemite.

My SO is a rabid Kev-Head and must listen to him every morning. Unfortunately, the station he is on recently took leave of their senses and changed to an 80’s format. They got rid of Bob Stroud, EVERYone who used to play decent music. Now I get this junk every morning on the way into work. And wouldn’t you know it - it was snowing/sleeting, heavy, this morning, and it took about an hour to get here. Of course, IDOT was able to get things moving again by plowing long AFTER I got here…I hate snow. But that’s another rant.

So, I was able to regain what was left of my sanity now that I’m safe in my cube because I can get the heavy metal station out of Wisconsin here. Thank GOD for the metal on this building. I just shudder to think that I am doomed for a winter of slow driving eighties crap listening drives in to work.

I feel ill.

The theme song of Final Fantasy IX has been stuck in my head for about two straight weeks now. Whenever my brain switches over to “autopilot,” I catch myself humming it. Fortunately, I really like it–it manages to be so evocative of the earlier games in the series that hearing it makes me feel like I’m thirteen years old again (well, in a good way :)), playing the original FF on my old NES. Ah, the good ol’ days…

September Gurls and I’m in Love with a Girl Alex Chilton/Big Star

"“SEPTEMBER GURLS” (Chilton)
September gurls do so much
I was your butch and you were touched
I loved you, well, never mind
I’ve been crying all the time

December boys got it bad

September gurls, I don’t know why
How can I deny what’s inside
Even though I’ll keep away
Maybe we’ll love all our days

When I get to bed, late at night
That’s the time she makes things right
Ooh when she makes love to me "

"“I’M IN LOVE WITH A GIRL” (Chilton)
I’m in love with a girl
Finest girl in the world
I didn’t know I could feel this way

Think about her all the time
Always on my mind
I didn’t know about love

All that a man should do is true

I’m in love with a girl
Finest girl in the world
I didn’t know this could happen to me"

Land down under, and now it’s stuck in my head too. Between that and the gambler (thanks delphica) I am going MAD!!!

But those are GOOD songs. You need to start singing “The Gambler” to yourself and suffer along with the rest of us.
