What song sums you up best?

“Life’s Been Good to Me So Far” - Joe Walsh.

No Maserati, no mansion, but I have to say things have been pretty nice.

Can’t complain, but sometimes I still do.

I don’t know if I’ll find the one I belong to
Or if that’s who I long to find.
Most people seek one love to last for a lifetime,
But that’s not what I have in mind.
The sun and stars don’t only shine on one man
They shine on whomever’s their pleasure–their light is their own.
And like them I don’t need anyone,
I belong to myself, I’ll be fine on my own.

–Friedrich Hollaender, 1932

There isn’t any one song that really does a full job of it, but Thomas Dolby’s “Windpower” comes pretty close.

Knowledge - Op Ivy

we get told to decide
just like
as if
I’m not gonna change my mind
all I know is that I don’t know,
all I know is that I don’t know nothing

“Take me back down where cool water flows, y’all
Let me remember the things I done
Walkin’ along the river road at night
Stoppin’ at the log where the catfish bite
Barefoot girls, dancin’ in the moonlight”

“Green River” by Creedance Clearwater Revival does it for me.

“Crusin’ With The Deuce” by Quarterflash.

“Some Weird Sin”- Iggy Pop

Mine would be a song called * Diva* I’m not sure who its by though…it’s on a club 69 cd but the lyrics tell aboiut someone who refuses to do dishes, and many other things and how she should be treated like the princess she is…I’m not being conceited, my friends told me this song was for me…LOL:D

I forgot the why!

I wear boots a lot. Not all the time, but when you might wear sneakers with your jeans to go to a show, I’m in boots. If I dress up for a wedding or a nice party or a night on the town, I’m in boots.

My friends… We like a good time. A good time for us can just be us all together, not really doing anything.

I’m a Country Boy. Though I have a wide range of tastes, from Classical to Early Punk, I lean to CM. And I dance to CM. I used to be in a Spanish band, and I sang CM in Spanish. Sure, Momma taught me to sing classically, and I can (she sang opera and folk), but I got a cry in my voice when I’m enjoying myself. (FTR, I did rap when I DeeJayed, and people were always surprised to see that I was white. I can also mimic many early rock performances. So, I can leave out the twang, but I like it)

Garth is an Okie. So am I. Now. (Born Texan, will die Texan, live in OKC)

Is that enough of an explination?

Funny story about mixing for a friend’s wedding, involving that song… if’n anyone wants to know.

otherwise, my fingers hurt. Where are those voice typing programs, huh?

Hylas’ Song, by Berlioz.

In My Life – The Beatles

“There are places I’ll remember…”

Can’t pare it down to just one -
on blue days it’s “Dust in the Wind”
on other blue days it’s “In My Life” and/or “My Old Kentucky Home”

Comfortably Numb - Pink Floyd

Macho Man

“Round the Bend” by the Beta Band sums up my life perfectly. And yours too.

Harold and Cindy Hospital by Severed Heads.

Hey, it ain’t easy being me.
