“You Don’t Know How it Feels (to be me)” by Tom Petty
“Green Eyed Lady”…I think that’s the correct title of the song by ???.
That’s meeeeeeeee!
Sugarloaf, off the top of my head.
I can’t really think of a song for me. I wish I could say “I’m Bad, I’m Nationwide”, but I’m not nearly that cool.
Fagjunk Theology: Not just for sodomite propagandists anymore.
I am a Rock- Simon and Garfunkel(sp?)
In the Hall of the Mountain King, from Edvard Grieg’s Peer Gynt Suites
naw, not me, I can steel myself to go out shopping oh, at least once a year
And I Love You so by Perry Como
But life began again
The day you took my hand,
And yes I know
How lonely life can be
The Shadows follow me…
How Can You Mend A Broken Heart by the Bee Gees
Actually, like other people, I won’t limit myself to one song, so I’ll add one
I wanna go back Eddie Money
I wanna go back, and do it all over
but I can’t go back, I know
I wanna go back, cause I’m feeling so much older
but I can’t go back, I know…
I’m so cool…
too bad I’m a looser…

Blue – Eiffel 65
by Carly Simon
Good call - i have stupidly wide music tastes too and i love a good bit of country when i’m in the right mood.
Actually sang this song in a pub once - a mate of mine was doing an acoustic set in an irish pub near me and i’d come along to watch. We’d both just been dumped by our respective girlfriends of the time and during his break he asked if i fancied giving “friends in low places” a go since he knew (on a good day) i can sing it and it pretty much summed up both our moods at the time.
It certainly made an interesting scene - garth being sung london style. Went down a storm too - we ended up doing it again as a finale - with a largely irish audience joining in on the chorus.
of course we sang the “live” version with the additional verse:
“I guess I was wrong
I just don’t belong
But then, I’ve been there before
And everything is alright
I’ll just say goodnight
And I’ll show myself to the door
I didn’t mean to cause a big scene
Just wait 'til I finish this glass
Then sweet little lady
I’ll head back to the bar
And you can kiss my ass.”
Well she’s a Brick House.
**Good Mother-Jann Arden **
Parts of it make me feel like I’m looking into a mirror:
*Cardboard masks of all the people
I’ve been
thrown out with all the rusted, tangled
dented God Damned miseries
You could say I’m hard to hold
*
You know, I popped in here with a joke answer before, but I’ve actually remembered a song that unfortunately does sum up part of my personality, but not in a flattering light.
The Battle of Who Could Care Less is me to a tee, right down to my college ID where I’m all dressed up like the Cure.
Pretty funny.
Sounds of Silence,
Simon and Garfunkle
Not that I heard it, but it seems a catchy title for me.
Momma Told Me Not To Come - Three Dog Night
One more recently, though I’m reluctant to buy into new rock: Trapt- Headstrong
“Back off, i’ll take you on/headstrong i’ll take on anyone”
In a good mood: Wheatus- Teenage Dirtbag
Bad mood: Silverchair- Suicidal Dream
One song to sum me up? HA HA HA ho ho…Not gonna happen. Nope.
garius, sounds like a fun evening. I would’ve loved to hear it.
we may not be able to do it “texas style” but its still good fun
