What the fuck is wrong with Tucker Carlson (this time)?

Now that’s interesting. What’s the source of this scuttlebutt? Anything remotely reliable, or is it just the normal speculative social media chatter?

ETA: I’m guessing the latter…

Having damaging or embarrassing info on Tucker would require him to have shame, which I’ve seen no evidence of. Instead, he’s more than happy to play the victim. His entire schtick is based on victimhood.

Really, what could come out that he’d be embarrassed about? He’s testified that he lies and shouldn’t be taken seriously on his show. It’s already out that he thinks Trump is an idiot.

I can’t even imagine him being compromised by some story about him killing someone years back, or even the classic (and misogynistic/homophobic) “dead girl/live boy” blackmail material. Anything that could be said about him would just be fodder for “the deep state is out to get me” victimhood.

Well, isn’t Tucker Carlson always trying to call out someone who is black?

Even his chyron writer at Fox apparently hated him:

Yeah, I’ll take those ahead of some sort of elaborate payoff or kompromat.

Many people are just RW assholes; AND many are and have figured out how to monetize it and will milk that for all it’s worth, because there’s a market for it. Why would this not apply to Carlson?

Tucker is also by his nature a contrarian. Everyone else says the sun rises in the East, but he’s the only one who has the courage to ask whether it couldn’t actually be that it rises in the west. This feeds the desire of his audience to feel like they have special knowledge and so are superior to all the other sheep. It the same thing that drives conspiracy theorists. So if everyone else takes the side of Ukraine he’ll take the Russian side.

So it looks like the spat between TuckTuck and Fox is getting more serious:

Both sides have gobs of money - I expect this will go on for some time.

I wish I was ̶a̶ ̶l̶a̶w̶y̶e̶r̶ ̶o̶n̶ ̶t̶h̶a̶t̶ ̶f̶a̶t̶ ̶p̶a̶y̶r̶o̶l̶l̶ a fly on the wall…

Here’s hoping it bankrupts at least one of them.

Hell, here’s hoping it banrupts both of them and whoever else decides to hop on that train!

The only people getting rich there are the lawyers.

I really don’t like confidentiality and non-compete type agreements. As little as I like either party, I hope Fox gets slapped down big time.

Ideally, of course, they both lose.

From what I understand, he’s still being paid by them, though. I don’t think they should have to pay him for being on what is effectively a rival network.

And apparently he did go ahead and put out a second show after the cease-and-desist. He must be hoping that Fox will settle.

The fine details will be worked out by the lawyers. I hope both sides have very expensive lawyers.

As most of us know, Tucker Carlson has become a pro-Russia stooge in his post-Fox career, and recently visited Russia to help promote his cause. He managed to score an interview with Putin, in the course of which he was as sycophantic as one might have expected.

It was hilarious the way Putin played him for a fool afterwards. In this later interview Putin depicted Carlson as a moronic toadie who failed to ask any interesting or challenging questions and was basically a waste of time!

You know there isn’t anything I agree with putin on, but…

I think that might be the first time I’ve ever heard Putin speak.*
Not only did he seem quite well spoken, but, and I can’t believe I’m saying this, it’s almost ‘refreshing’ to hear a politician get annoyed that a journalist lobbed him softballs when he was looking for actual, challenging questions.

Ask someone stateside some basic question and watch them dance all around it without ever giving an answer. Ask trump, well, anything, and see how long it takes before he starts rambling about windmills and IQ tests.

*He seems to speak (American) English just about perfectly as well.

I’m pretty sure he’s full of shit though. If tuckie had actually been a, you know journalist and asked about say Navalney (sp?). Or maybe pushed about the cluster that is the war#/ in Ukraine, putin would have had him locked up. Just like he has all the real journalists.

#/ Just calling it a “war” gets you prison time in russia.

Almost, though I think Putin was more doing it to belittle Carlson than out of any actual desire to answer tough questions. Putin knows that it’s the strongman persona that is his appeal. He naturally wants to establish himself as superior to those who interview him.

He decided to do the interview because he knew Carlson wouldn’t do a good job. He knows he’s a Russian bootlicker.

Also dumb as a fucking post.
