Given that Giuliani didn’t have a lot of money, I thought concentrating on the first big state was a wise decision. However, it is now apparent that his message wasn’t getting out to the rest of the nation because the media virtually ignored him. People are influenced by polls, and apparent momentum.

Its a shame, because Giuliani had a specific platform on eliminating the income tax. I don’t know how he would have replaced it, but I have to assume it would be a consumption tax. That is the first time I’ve ever heard a political leader propose the elimination of this regressive tax and something I’ve dreamed about for years.

Huckabee has also bought into the brain dead idea of eliminating the income tax.

I was a tepid Giuliani supporter at first… well, that is, I should say, of all of the Republican field, I thought he and McCain were the two least objectionable. He’d done well on 9-11, I thought, and had done a lot of good crime-fighting in NYC, reclaimed Times Square, helped the business community, made the subways safe again, etc. Then I did some more reading, and spoke and emailed with real live New Yorkers, and learned a lot more about him. Now I think it’s probably a good thing he’s not going to become President… at least in 2009.

It doesn’t speak well of you when your two grown children want nothing to do with you. Florida voters seem to have figured Rudy out.

The Fair Taxers say the rate is 23% - but they take the price with the tax added as the denominator. Shows how numerate they are.

I fucking hate that guy. If you’ve ever seen him up close and personal, he’s a real creepy dude. A more corrupt son-of-a-bitch can’t be found outside of Louisiana. It’s funny though how Republicans don’t see corruption until he fucks around on his wife. But this is one case where marital infidelity really highlights a lack of moral fibre.

He did something even worse than cheating on his wife - announcing his divorce at a press conference without telling her first. Lots of people cheat, but it takes a special brand of weasel to do that.
