What the heck is Ira Glass saying about Sara Vowell in the TAL credits?

During the credits for This Amercan Life, Ira rattles off “Jack Hit, Margie [Marty?] Rockland [?] and ________ Sarah Vowell.”

Consiglaire? <— I just totally made this up and have no idea what it means, if, by some wild chance, its anything close to right.

Eh, he was just having a vowel movement.

Consiglari—Like Robert Duvall in The Godfather

blinks Assume I am a cultural infant who has never seen The Godfather. blushes

Consigliere - counselor - lawyer/advisor to the don. Very important position.

Ah, thank you very much. One more mystery laid to rest.

Sarah Vowell has a thing for The Godfather (she titled her book, Take The Cannoli). Even when she doesn’t contribute she might have some hand in the behind the scenes stuff (that’s just an educated guess). I believe she helps select the music for the shows, or has done so for at least one episode.

For those who don’t know, This American Life is available online through RealPlayer, and is the best thing on radio today.
