What the heck is up with AOL?

I haven’t been able to check my email for 3 days now. (note: I’m not at my home computer and do not have AOL software installed here, so I don’t know if people at home are having the same problem. I’m checking it at aol.com)

Is anyone else having this problem? It seems when I get to the aol main page and click on mail, it just keeps loading 1% or 2% of the page, then starts over and this cycle continues indefinitely. You would think if their server is down, a company like AOL wouldn’t let it stay down for 3 days, at least not without connecting you to some sort of explanation page.

I don’t know if this should be in GQ or the pit (as I’m starting to have very pit-worthy impulses regarding AOL) so I’ll put it in here for now.

Merry Christmas

Hmmm. Mine’s working okay. My guess would be that AOL, in its capacity as “training wheels for the Internet,” might have been a little overloaded the past few days.

Try getting your mail at non-primetime.

I dunno…I installed AOL 6.0 (or Virus 6.0 for those in tech fields) for my step-mom-in-law yesterday and we had no problem at all connecting.

OK, nevermind. I think I’ve found out what the problem is. Apparently, Compuserve won’t let me open up the page, but IE will. Sorry for the alarm. AOL still may felch rhinocerous fleas, but at least not for this reason.
