What the hell happened to CBS Sportstalk Radio?

I listen to CBS Sportstalk in the mornings a lot of times on my way to work. They were never amazing but I thought Brandon Dana and Tiki were pretty easy to listen to. Dana was pretty good with those guys.

Then they overhauled the lineup, and format, this year. It blows.

The show is unlistenable now. Brian Jones is a tool bag and even when he was on evenings he rarely had anything original to say and liked to continually beat the black guy white shtick to death. Never heard him provide original thought or analysis of anything. Now he’s on in the morning. Great.

The new format includes a constant barrage of soundboard bits that make it nearly impossible to follow who is saying what. Someone is constantly hitting the button playing some 2 second mispronunciation or something right in the middle of a discussion. This is bad enough on rock radio etc… But on talk radio that shit should be banned. At least with Rome he’s the only one talking so when he does it it doesn’t confuse me as a listener.

Anyone else listen?

And I know, I should stream, and I do but its a local Sportstalk show that runs out of stuff to talk about so I turn on the national shows to catch up.

I listened to Tierney and Tiki from time to time as a change of pace from Mike and Mike. I don’t know the new guys, but I’m not opposed to change. Tiki is not a likeable guy. Tierney was ok except when he was interviewing guests. He spent too much time massaging their ego (he did the same with Tiki) and plugging their new book/show/whatever than asking questions people might actually care about.

No matter who CBS sports ratio puts in the morning they will not compete with Mike and Mike.
