Last night on the Tonight Show, they had “The 5 Browns,” a family that plays the piano, on as musical guests. Anyways, there was one part of the piece that they played that reminded me of a song that I like, yet I can’t think of what it was.
I found a clip that plays the part I’m thinking of:
Click “West Side Story excerpt (300k stream)” and listen from 2:33 - 2:48ish.
I’m sure that the song I’m thinking of is either rock or metal, because that’s all I listen to. In fact, as I was writing this message, I’m getting a strong Metallica vibe, yet I can’t place the song.
Well, I’ve never seen West Side Story, so I know it can’t be that. I also just listened to “For Whom the Bell Tolls,” and although reminiscent, it’s not the song that I was reminded of.
If I’m remembering correctly, the song I’m thinking of sounds virtually identical to the specified time in the clip, unless of course I’ve gone insane.
Thanks for the help. Damn this is driving me crazy.
There was indeed a Metallica song that played a couple lines from WSS’s “America” in the middle. Damned if I can think of it. Is it “Don’t Tread on Me?” I’m going to listen to some Metallica. I’ll be back.
