What the hell is 'TMI'?

I keep seeing it after posts in MPSIMS - ‘Kinda TMI’ ‘Probably a bit TMI’ ‘Could be TMI’ ‘Possibly TMI’

whatever it is - nobody seems to be able to decide weither their post is it or not.
I know the answer is probably embarrasingly obvious. But you don’t know [even the obvious things] uuntil you ask.

Thanks.

Too Much Information

Too Much Information.

Next question…what’s a “simulpost”?

OIC

Thanks guys

BTW - OIC : ‘Oh, I see’, & BTW : ‘By The Way’

And the reason for this is that what may be TMI for one person is not for another, so it’s up to the reader to judge whether they want to even open the thread.
Me? I normally open it right up.

I have noticed that post that give a TMI warning really don’t GEI (given enough information)

What does IIRC stand for, anyway?

I am quessing it’s nothing to do with IRC (Internet Relay Chat)

If I Remember Correctly

IIRC= If I Recall Correctly

And one more…what does YMMV stand for?

Your Milage May Vary - What may be true for one person (or location, company, computer, car, etc.) may not be for another.

And before someone asks,

IANAL - I am not a lawyer - While I may be talking about legal matters, it’s not the profession I’ve trained in, so get confirmation with a real professional before you do something that could get you in trouble.

IAAL - I am a lawyer

‘L’ can be replaced with other letters (most commonly ‘D’ for Doctor in threads seeking medical advice) to indicate other professions, but (other than ‘D’) these are not as common and should probably include an explanation of what you’re referring to.

Does OP=Original Post?

So, manhattan, one of these days, with a thread that has a missing OP, are you just going to put “answered”? :stuck_out_tongue:
