Dude, I’d click on that in one half red hot second.
hahaha
but, what if the OP was by your sister? (I think i just creeped myself out)
“Dude, I’d <action-object> in one half red hot second” is how I will be letting people know that I have no desire/intention for the “that” to have <action> done to it, ever, from now on, please let me know if that is OK
“Dude, I’d drink that urine sample in one half red hot second”
“Dude, I’d get that vague, inaccurate tech spec approved in one half red hot second” (sorry, just have a lot of rage)
“Dude, I’d let friendlessboob have access to a computer in one half red hot second”
If it were by my sister, I’d be positively beside myself. In a happy way.
“Sis!! I just knew you were into ass-twaddlery and toe-suckery! You filthy whore!”
Interpreting “you” generically rather than personally, the words gay, pornography, lesbian, Fuck you {insert specific Doper or specific company here} and any combination thereof always do well.
Anything having to do with sports in general, TV shows I don’t watch or usually cooking.
Roughly, a third or so.
This being about the 23rd, I’d say “bettah then av’ridge”.

No. I’m waiting for the movie.
Maybe not respond with a post, but for sure at least see what’s going on.
That’s easy: something posted by Lawoot called I’m getting married! Next choices would be posts about Mike Keneally, Frank Zappa, King Crimson, Calvin and Hobbes, Oxford history, or the Bucksnort Saloon.
**What title would you almost certainly ignore? **anything about gaming, comic books, American Idol (or any reality show), NASCAR, or religious witnessing.
**What topic would you be least likely to post to? ** Of the threads that made it past the prior filters, I’m least likely to post to threads in which I have nothing intelligent to add. But sometimes that doesn’t stop me.
What percentage of threads do you find the titles interesting enough to at least do a mouse-over to see what’s behind the title? 15%
What are the odds that this thread will get more than three replies? 100%
Have you read this far? no
Maybe not respond with a post, but for sure at least see what’s going on.
Something with a favourite band/style of music, maybe a movie I want to see, anything that says “cute animals within” or “cute babies within”, “Keanu Reeves frolicking with Knives”, certain posters I always click on or at least hover over to see what’s going down (including but definitely not limited to: Inigo, Quicksilver, Anaamika, Telperien, KCSuze, **The Weird One ** - and if I notice Cervaise has posted, I have to at least peek at what’s going on), if my name is in the title, and almost every Pit thread, though those I rarely respond to. The heat, in the kitchen? I can’t take it, so I stay out. I’m all flowers and MPSIMS.
What title would you almost certainly ignore?
Anything I’m not interested in: Star Trek… uh. I think that’s it.
What topic would you be least likely to post to?
Most of the time, Pit threads. 99.9% of the time I have nothing useful to contribute that hasn’t already been said, or I’m not riled/excited enough about something to bother. Sometimes I stick my head in and make some inane comment or another, but it’s probably because I’m feeling particularly chatty. Also, Star Trek threads, because I have no interest.
What percentage of threads do you find the titles interesting enough to at least do a mouse-over to see what’s behind the title?
Ugh. Probably 75% of them. I read quickly, though, glance over something, move along, get bored, do some housework, go out for a walk, come back, glance some more, absorb most stuff by osmosis, run some errands… then the husband comes home and hears all kinds of weird stories.
Have you read this far?
I have now.
I’m thinking of getting this pierced (way TMI)(pictures)
that was pretty funny… for a moderator, no offense
The pitiable thing is, mods have to read all the threads. And look at the linked pictures.
I want that job!
I’m a knowledge hound, I’ll read darn near everything. When I first came to Mecca (SDMB) I mostly read the General Questions. Now I’m firmly perusing the MPSIMS and IMHO, I venture into the pit on occasion, just because I’m not afraid of a good fight, and even the pit threads can be enlightening. Cafe Society, eh, not so much.
I adore SurrenderDorothy, I can’t believe she’s a kid, and kudo’s to you for knowing your limitations. Just for you sweetie, 29 pages of baby pics, from sonogram to present. There may or may not be a kitty pic included: Baby pics
What doesn’t interest me? The whole red state/blue state crap. I’m sick of it. Most poker threads, even though I am a poker dealer, I hear enough bad beat stories at work.
What does get me? Etiquette, family disfunction, geeky science stuff, child rearing and virtually every “Ask the” thread. Good questions get me every time. Any thread that highlights the skills of the dopers “what’s your profession” I am astounded and the depth and breadth of knowledge contained by a bunch of folks who call themselves dopers.
The thread that epitomized the SDMB for me was someone asking about sign language. Within 7 hours, an instructer, a deaf person, a spouse to a deaf person all these folks and more responded so quickly and so informatively with real honest to god info, it was stunning really.
I’ve heard rumours that the way to become a Moderator is to ask.
What title would you almost certainly ignore?
Anything political, heard it, read it or have seen it all, and neither side gives an inch. Not to mention WAY too much hatefulness.
What topic would you be least likely to post to?
See above
What percentage of threads do you find the titles interesting enough to at least do a mouse-over to see what’s behind the title?
Hmmmm. I’d say about 10%, to perhaps 25% on a good day.
**
What are the odds that this thread will get more than three replies?**
Very good, as it’s above that now
Have you read this far?
Yup.
You didn’t ask this but ones I will almost certainly read, and likely respond to, are ones which deal with human interest, the human condition, pets, girl stuff (decorating, dating, stuff like that).
I just threw up in my mouth a little bit.
