No, I call racism when there is racism. VDARE has it by the bushel, as evidenced in those quotes, as well as plenty of other articles on their site.
No, no good data. Once again, how many illegal immigrants are there in our country and how do you arrive at that number?
Keep looking. So far, you’ve only shown newspapers regurgitating what a single racist organization puts out in press releases. If you have a newspaper article from the SFC or NYT that actually studied it themselves, link away.
There is no accurate data. Everything provided so far is based on estimates, which are based on estimates, which are based on estimates, with the numbers fudged one way or the other, by those with an agenda on both sides.
By the way, your jokes aren’t funny, and you seem to often confuse illegal immigrants with Mexican immigrants. There is certainly overlap between the two, but they’re not the same, but considering your source material, the confusion is understandable.
Now to be fair, I thought the catapault thing was kind of funny-- not because it was Mexicans, but because the idea of anybody being surprised and flung by a catapult is kind of amusing. The concept was roundly explored in Road Runner cartoons. I think it would be a great idea for getting those damn kids off my lawn.
(NOTE: Of course it wouldn’t be funny if it were real people.)
Or the Mark of the Beast as conceived by many fundamentalists and millenialists. A nation which so strongly resists national identity cards probably isn’t going to go for this idea either.
Here’s an example of an illegal immigrant. I guess he’s one of those poor, hardworking men taking a job in construction, a job that no American wants. Or was it because, since he used the job to appear to be on private property legitimately, it was a way that he was able to rape and kill? And I wonder how many other women were his victims? Now we’ve had to spend thousands to aprehend him, try him, and forever room and board him. Unless we electrocute him, like he deserves. P.S. no comments about how white American men commit rape also please. They are here legally and our system is set up to deal with them. This kind of thing is totally unnecessary and he shouldn’t have been in this country in the first place.
How is he exemplary of the moral character of all illegal immigrants? And since he did not enter the country illegally, but overstayed his legally issued visa, how would you propose we prevent a tragedy like this? Stop issuing visas altogether?
I can’t find the cite for this. It was in a Phoenix newspaper on sunday.
Here is a story that does include the problems related to work centers in Southern California e.g. peeing on the street, and loitering. It gives you just a small vision of the enormous problems caused by these people coming into our country illegally. http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/I/IMMIGRATION_FRONT_LINES?SITE=FLTAM&SECTION=US
We cannot economically give them all they need. There’re aren’t enough resources when only part of the population is contributing and the other part are only taking. They contribute almost nothing to taxes. And in the process of trying we are lowering the quality of life for our own citizens. I understand how these ignorant people, who have nothing in Mexico, think that the United States has unlimited resources to give them a job, provide them medical care and education, provide housing and all the services Americans expect. But their ignorance cannot be our downfall. Life is not fair, is it? And as the old saying goes: If it’s going to be me or you, it’s going to be you.
It’s obviously a very complicated situation, with a number of factors as to the reasons why. The federal government, for example, has failed to provide the funds necessary to hire the INS agents needed to track these people down. Plus, there is no coordinated effort with the states. If hospitals were required to notify the INS when these people were admitted, for example, before they walked out the door leaving behind thousands in bills by the way, they could be transported back over the border. Employers cannot legally hire them; however their fradulent papers fall under “reasonable care”, so, just like passports, documents that cannot be duplicated need to be developed. When a friend of mine who grew pears turned them in they would be back over the border in a short time; so obviously even if we catch them, the border has to be more physically secure so they can’t just turn around and come back. A friend in the Navy was ashamed of her family that had run the border illegally and lived in rental houses, cramming in dozens of people, and damaging the property. These landlords, who suspect illegals are renting from them, should be fined if caught renting to them. And the INS should make sweeps on these areas. I still believe they should be chipped when caught and suffer a more severe consequence if caught again in the country.
Since several people in my family by marriage (ex) and also in the families of friends of one of my sons came to this country on a visa and illegally remained in the United States, I can tell you that they have an undergound communication net that informs them how to use the system to their advantage. They are well-versed in how to avoid the INS and also in how to get all they can from our welfare systems.
From the crisis that exists it appears to any reasoning person that we can’t support them. So, what’s the solution? Degrade the quality of life for Citizens and legal residents?
The most unholy of alliances, formed over the years by the two parties.
The Reps have kept their mouths shut on the issue because they want to supply their base with a steady stream of cheap labor they can take advantage of. Secondarily, they want to weaken the Dems hold on the immigrant vote. The Dems have been complicit in keeping the topic off the table because they believe that every brown body over the border means a vote for them. Just look at how mach the immigration issue was mentioned during the election, particulalry the debates. Pathetic. Criminal, if you ask me.
I think it would depend on the context, and the anti-kneejerk quotient of the reader. I appreciate your desire to make this a racist issue, most recently by bringing blacks into it, but the line you object to was refering to the citizens of a particular country. Mexico is inhabited by Mexicans. The “fucking” descriptor I think works equally well regardless of the country in question. For instance:
I wish you fucking Italians would do some goddamn work over the summer so I don’t have to wait 6 more fucking weeks for my sofa.
Why you do fucking French stop being so fucking snooty to people who come visit your chickenshit country?
I wish you fucking Iranians would quit it with the nuclear testing talk. It’s not, you know, helpful, you dumb pieces of shit.
Why don’t you fucking Japanese ease up on the pressure you put on kids to excel in school. Then, maybe, the wouldn’t be commiting suicide to escape you obsessed sons of bitches.
Get it? See how it is not the racism you want it ot be? Good. Either way.
In preview, this is fun, maybe I should start a thread.
Yeah I think I’m catching on. In other words, according to you, someone who talks that way isn’t really racist. More like a big fucking jerk. Wouldn’t you agree?
We’re set up to deal with people like this also. He’s being charged with first degree murder. The same sentence with which we’d charge a legal immigrant, or even a citizen.
Headway. Excellent. You are catching on. To be sure, now just look up the word. Let me know if you have trouble. I’ll be happy to help, neighbor.
Personal attacks aren’t allowed in GD. But, maybe as a Mexican, you believe that the rules don’t apply to you. Oh well, not surprising I guess, given some of the content of this thread.
Now where did I call you any names. All I said was people that talk like that, you know, fucking this and fucking that, sound like jerks. But if the shoe fits…
If you are claimiing that you cannot see that logic connects your statement to the insult, I absolutely believe you are being truthful.
Now maybe you can help me: I know very little Spanish, so could you tell me, does the Mexican strain of the language have word for backbone? Maybe you could look that up for me. As thanks in advance I’ll offer this advice, neighbor, if you ever feel like just flailing about, get yourself a good stick, a blindfiold, and a pinata. Eventually you’ll get something out of: CANDY!
