I woke up this morning to find the freezer door wide open. We’re still not sure who the culprit is, but we suspect it’s someone under 4 feet tall.
Now I have a whole lot of thawed meat that I’m trying to figure out what to do with. So far I have found something to do with everything but the 7 pieces of steak. They’re varying cuts of Omaha Steaks. I really don’t want to try to eat that much grilled steak. We’re just a family of four, the kids not even school aged yet.
Well, you can cook them, then freeze again. I’d have steak for dinner tonight, though.
Make some kebabs, then you’ll have them later for maybe a salad topped with grilled sliced steak. Freeze some for steak omelettes (that’s what I do anyway with leftover steak.)
You can make what I call “heavenly hash,” - cube some cooked steak, saute with onions, then add diced potatoes and beef stock. Simmer until potatoes are done (about 15 minutes) - then thicken with a corn starch slurry.
Me - I’d also consider making kebabs, stew, stir fries… all of which can be frozen and reheated with no problem. Granted, Omaha steaks are a bit luxurious for such things, but they’ll make all those dishes taste fantastic.
