What to do with a can of Spam?

Roll? You must make it differently.

The only way I’ve seen it or made it is with a big rectangle of rice with the SPAM on top (and wrapped with nori and with the glaze). The hard part is making the SPAM-shaped rectangle now that the bottom of the can can’t be cut off. I solved this by buying a musubi form, but you can still cut the bottom of the SPAM can off with shears and crimp the edges with pliers so you don’t cut yourself.

I dice it and fry it up with O’brien potatoes and season with apple cider vinegar and a little colman’s mustard. Yum!

There used to be, and maybe still is, a restaurant across the street that advertised their specialty was Spam. A lot of the menu involved Spam. The restuarant was for sale when I was there a few years ago.

Run it thru a meat grinder or food processer (set on coarse) together with an equal volume of velveeta cheese, and spread the resulting material on bread or english muffin halves, then put under the broiler for 5 minutes.

Yum!!

It moved to a different location on the block but I don’t know if they’ve changed the menu.

Now, if there’s some left, don’t just throw it out
Use it for spackle, or bathroom grout

*The tab is there to open the can,
the can is there to hold in the spam *

Slice a couple of thin slices, pan broil it to get the crispy edges and put on a peanut butter sandwich, which you proceed to grill. Goes well with beer.

Well, I WAS going to say “More for ME!”, but you kinda took that option off the table, didn’tcha?

Having looked up what’s in scrapple, I can only hope that if someone ever feeds it to me, it’s already plated, and I don’t have to learn what it is until AFTER I’ve already experienced its deliciousness.

Kinda like that guy in the un-love potion thread that Skald has going on in IMHO.

Haven’t tried the baconed Spam yet, but the jalapeno version is quite tasty. Next on my list to try is the chorizo-spiced version.

Could you do me Egg-Bacon-Spam-and-Sausage without the Spam then?

I haven’t had it in years, but fry it in slices and eat with eggs, or fry it with onions and shredded potatos for hashbrowns.

I guess I’m not getting the joke. You eat meat, and she buys you yummy meat. She sounds quite considerate, if you ask me!

I find the best use of Spam is to weigh down the plastic bag inside the trash can so you can fill it fuller.

Dehydrated and ground up, Spam can be used as salt, 'cause that’s what it mostly is.

Actually, it is only 1.3% sodium.

That’s still about 3.5% NaCl, which is quite a bit, even without my exaggeration.

Health food it isn’t. But it last for next to forever and is moderately tasty, so a can or two will always reside in my pantry.

Spam is one of my family’s classic on the road foods. I actually perfer the Bacon Spam in taste to the classic Spam. Cut it into pieces and cook it with eggs, cheese, onions, and wild mushrooms if you really know your mushrooms for an outdoor picnic.

SPAMBURGER!
