What Was On The Cover Of "Time" When You Were Born?

General Creighton Abrams

David Simmons, I had no idea how…um…many 35th birthday anniversaries you’ve had. What would have been a likely cover story for the week in which you were born?

Is God Dead?

I was born four days after you then. February 12.

Ahhh crap…

Aside from the general awfulness of the cover, note that Hef has a pipe in his hand, and another one in his mouth. Seriously, some of the portraits Time has used on its covers ought to count as libel. That Rowan and Martin one is just hideous.

Yay my Doper twin!

If I can’t get in on the game at least I can be helpful.

A special somebody on death row.

It figures…

On the other hand, I think that El Paso by Marty Robbins was number one that week…

Holy CRAP you have the EXACT SAME birthday as me! Month day and year!

Looks like Vice President Nixon graced the cover on Jan 23, 1954.

Bonne and Clyde.

More Nixon.

If I had been born just 4 days later, I could have had Secretariat as the cover story. Oh well.

I can’t search for the Life cover story, because you can only search up to 1972.

Hey! I found Jimmy Hoffa!

Yeah, that was my second thought.

Boring. 1/7/79’s cover is from 1/8. Some architect named Philip Johnson, as the lead to a story about American architects. We don’t have a snoozing smiley, but jeez. The cover for the following week was something about the brewing trouble outside of Iran – apparently the entire Mideast region is something of a hot zone for discontent. The week before was the cover with Dèng Xiǎopíng that was posted by someone else earlier.

Can’t pull up anything on Life, cause I was born after 72.

OK, that has to be the most appropriate match in the thread!!
Mine really sucked: Governor George Wallace

LIFE was much better: The New Astronauts

You, me, and only one other person I know! I don’t know about you, but I always pinpoint my birth as either “between the moon landing and Woodstock” or “between the Chappaquidock incident and the Manson-Tate murders.” Depends on whether I’m an optimist or a pessimist on any particular day…

“Humphrey For President”. No, I ain’t linking. You wanna know how old I am, go look it up! It’s exactly on my B-day too.
