I’m starting this here in the hope that someone knows or has heard a definitive answer on this, but I’ll settle for educated guesses.
A FoxNews photographer, shooting footage for weather backgrounds, captured something near the airport at Albany, NY. If you haven’t seen the footage, there are still shots here:
The sites are not exactly the most reliable generally, I suppose, but I can vouch that the images themselves, which I saw on a FoxNews report, are correct.
The thing was in only seven frames of the tape, and when it went out, it went behind the clouds to the left. So it was probably hundreds of feet long. They saw the image when they reviewed it at the studio and called the police. The police contacted the FBI. And the FBI picked up the tape.
Lib - I put my hand up as taking an educated guess.
I recently posted a thread about the American Stealth Program and the UFO Phenomena. It got an interesting response from people who say there is absolutely no correlation to the new stealth unmanned aircraft and UFO’s. To people saying ‘hmmmm, they do resemble peoples iconic views of what a UFO looks like.’
I looked at both sites you gave and took screen shots of the enhanced one that I am looking at now. I’d say it is probably some sort of reconnaisance steath aircraft – with zero gravity propulsion of some sort, possibly magnetic – or a bonafide extra-terrestrial reconnaisance steath aircraft.
Watching the entire video, one thing was appearent to me. Every object in there appeared to be quite close to the camera lens. I would suspect insects, or blowing debris close enough to the camera to be incompletely focused.
Lib, go to your first link and watch the entire large video.
The first few shots are pretty clearly insects. Only the last second or so is what the picts are taken from.
Now, let me tell you something about cameras, lens, and focus. Very near objects that are out of focus often appear to go alternately in front of and behind lightly and darkly color objects. It is quite natural, and I don’t think for one second that the object went behind the con trails of that jet.
As you can see in all the pics where the object intersects those contrails, the object clearly changes their color. It would look somewhat like the object passed behind and that the contrails were semi transparent. That is crap. If the object passed behind them, it would have completely dissappear at the intersection.
Who says it flew behind the clouds, none of the pictures or the video indicate that.
Yes, Revtim, the usual interpretation is that each frame records a couple beats of an insects wings as it flies by the camera. That would mean that its body would not obscure the clouds either.
Look at the classic “rods” photos, those where people were climbing or BASE jumping down into a cave. The rods are between the camera and the cave–they’re not very big at all.
The video at that site is not the Fox News video. Only the three stills that I specified as labeled Courtesy Fox News 23 at the bottom of the page are from Fox News. In the Fox News video, there are no contrails. As you can see from the stills, there is only sky, clouds, the jet which has just taken off from the runway (no contrails), and the thing.
The rod theory looks interesting, but it sure seemed to go behind the cloud. I wish I could link you to a video, but it’s been playing today on Fox News if you get a chance to see it.
The video they are showing is exactly what the stills are taken from, I can identify each still frame by frame.
Oh, you mean the little pics in the lower right…
I find it very interesting that they don’t show stills from the video where it goes behind the clouds. Here’s a theory as to why not… If you looked real close, you could probably tell that it did not in fact go behind the clounds.
Well, they showed all seven frames on the TV, and I looked real close. The cameraman pointed out that it would be going behind the cloud in the next frame, and lo, it did.
Hmm, this is a rather old topic for me, but it was proven before (Wasn’t it?) that it has to do with how a camcorder takes video. In other words, as stated, probablyflying animals of one kind or another, but the camcorder takes video so it looks like that.
I suspect this ‘behind the clouds’ business is a red herring, just like the disappearing grid lines in the Apollo photos (although probably for a different reason this time; when a dark object (like the ‘rod’) is badly out of focus in a shot and it passes in front of a bright feature, the unfocused dark object does not create a ‘solid’ enough image to prevent the light feature showing through.
here is a perfect example; is the fence behind the players?
