What was the breed of dog in Bruce Almighty?

I have a friend who is a personal assistant for this guy and she’s tasked with trying to find a dog “like the one from Bruce Almighty.” My best guess is some sort of border collie mix, but I’m not really an expert so I thought I’d ask the Dope for her.

Factually, from what I can find, it appears to be a mutt. Some are speculating part pointer. Others are saying Dalmatian - Lab cross. Others say no Dalmatian, but a border collie mix. It’s your guess. All we know is that it’s a good old fashioned American mutt.

Thanks! Kinda what I thought, I was hoping a dog breed expert would be able to nail the mixed breeds more conclusively.

This guy looks a bit like him. And this one.

I just searched petfinder for “border collie” in my area.

Looks like a “Border Collie Mix” to me. It looks not entirely unlike a dog we once had that was a Border Collie-Labrador Retriever mix…but the spotting does suggest Dalmation.
