What was the last tune you whistled or hummed?

I found myself whistling “Razzle Dazzle” from the musical Chicago earlier today out of nowhere

Oh, crap. I can’t get ‘On the Road Again’ out of my head. It’s not easy for me to whistle that, for some reason and now my face is hurting.

Willieor Canned Heat? They’re both hard to whistle.

Willie. Well, now I’ll whistle Canned Heat til I die of sprained dimples.

I realized that almost everything I’ve been whistling/humming/singing lately have been songs that have been mentioned here. Like “Possession” from this thread. Someone mentioned Ozzy not having stage presence… so that was 24 hours of “Paranoid” in my brain. Then someone linked to live Van Morrison… cue “Caravan” in my head; it was from “The Last Waltz”, so that started me humming “Stage Fright”, the first in a long string of Rick Danko songs…

I spend waaay too much time on The Dope. Is there a 12-step program?

I was riffing along with the popcorn in the microwave last night. Does that count?

A guilty pleasure of mine, “Yes or Yes” by the K-Pop group Twice. I was partially singing, but mostly humming because I don’t speak Korean.

Does vocalizing à la whatever Roger Miller song was turned into the Hampster Dance count? (After googling, it’s a sped up version of “Whistle Stop” from Disney’s Robin Hood.) If so, it’s “Yakety Sax” while watching some football highlight on Twitter – I don’t remember which one, but I’m sure there are plenty that would fit. [Edit on preview: it’s now the Hampster Dance song.]

If only actual whistling (which I can’t do) or humming counts, I might have to go back to the last time I played Cranium, maybe 8 years ago. The song I remember drawing in the Humdinger round was “Billie Jean.” I ended up humming the chorus, the next verse, the bridge, and another chorus while everyone on my team said, “Oh! I know that!” Finally, someone got it right before time ran out.

Bach’s “Air on the G String.”

I was watching Ken Burns documentary on Country Music tonight. I’ve been whistling ‘I’ll fly away’ since.

Me and Julio, thanks to the Straight Dope

Bicycling in to work this morning - Iron Maiden’s “The Number of the Beast”

The theme music to “Kolchak: The Night Stalker”.

“Fun” by Fromis_9, as it was playing during my workout this morning and is ridiculously catchy.

Currently “Don’t Stop Believin’”, because it was featured on NPR’s Morning Edition this morning.

That reminds me of a funny story. For some reason I had “Hail to the Chief” stuck in my head one day. Going for a pee break at work, I walked up to the urinal, and without thinking about what I was doing until after I had done it, I hummed the first few bars of “Hail to the Chief” right before I, uhhh, took it out.

Elmer Bernstein’s score to “Sweet Smell of Success” over the opening credits.

“Duh DAH DAH. Du da-da-da DAH DAH…”

“Will The Circle Be Unbroken” was playing in the background while I set my Tivo. That took over from J.S. Bach for me.

The Andy Griffith Show theme. My pet cockatiel, Luc, passed away last week after a long (25-year) life, and he’d whistle that. I miss my birdy buddy.

Parts of Bach’s famous Toccata and Fugue in Dm.
