My grandmother kept a few of my father’s books around the house to entertain visiting children. I vividly remember them all and have been trying to get copies for my own daughter.
There is one I can’t remember the title of, though, and which is impossible to Google. So please Dope, help!
The story is about a Miss Pig. She never gets any letters. The mail carrier feels sorry for her, and tells everything to throw a party for her. They do. A goose gives her a homemade candle–scented with some kind of berry, maybe elderberry, maybe gooseberry. After that, Miss Pig gets lots of letters in the mail every day.
To the best of my knowledge the book was my dad’s, so it must date to the fifties or earlier. It had nice color illustrations. Help?
