I want to say I’ve asked this before, but I can’t find it…
Anyway, in the mid 90s, it seemed to be on late night cable TV every weekend. At least, it always seemed to be playing in the background of one of my favorite bars, but it was on mute.
The “plot” seemed to revolve around a blonde-haired man who stumbled upon an old village. After spending some time there, the village suddenly revolts against him, and he has to kung-fu his way through the streets while the possessed townspeople slowly shamble their way through the streets trying to cut the guy off.
And that went on for about an hour. It was very strange.
Sounds vaguely like The Wicker Man, but that movie was pretty good. Unless you mean the Nic Cage version, which sucked, but didn’t come out until much more recently.
I remember when that movie came out and I saw the ads and I thought, “That’s look bad. I will not watch it.” But I had no idea it was THAT BAD. It just keeps getting worse.
The Red Letter Media guys watched Gymkata in a Wheel of the Worst episode. (The third one they review in the link).
If you haven’t seen them before, they’re the ones that did the Plinkett reviews that cut TNG and the Star Wars Prequels to ribbons, and their normal movie reviews and Wheel of the Worst episodes are also hilarious.
