What was your last email about?

IN - A response to a personal ad I have posted.

OUT - A message to a co-worker informing her that I will not tell her who I am going out with on Wednesday night.

Last one recieved: An anti-abortion newsletter I signed up for.

Last one sent: A email sent to my mother giving her the link tothe assboat Comedy Goldmine on Something Awful.

It was from a second cousin once removed asking about the disappearance (and reappearance 17 years later) of his great-grandfather/my great-great grandfather.

Let’s see…

IN An email from a friend who moved away recently. Subject: bizzzznitch

OUTAn email from my work to my personal account so I can continue working at home if I ever get out of here. sigh.

Out; me begging, wheedling, bullying and blackmailing a friend into going to Vegas for a concert next week.

In: another re: re: re: re: Have a happy day with flowers ‘n’ hugs ‘n’ smiley faces glurge-mail from someone I wish would forget my addy.

The last e-mail in my AOL account is about a girl and a horse. Seriously. I don’t know why somebody would think I’d be interested in a girl and her horse— in love.

The last one I sent out was giving my Dad my new zip code.

Instructions from one of my allies on how to deal with the nearby orcs (in a PBEM game, thankfully :))

Received: a quick email from one of my best friends with a picture attachment of her at her Convocation yesterday.

Sent: A Reply to her congratulating her and telling her to get her ass on the road and come visit me sometime, or at least to call me

Last out and last in: me eating dirt/wheedling with the Interlibrary loan department at the university library to see if they have lagered about 15 pdf obscure foreign-language journal articles from the last month that I hadn’t backed up after download when I stupidly killed my machine and had to fully reinstall; response that they will check on it and let me know what can be done. I can HEAR their eyes rolling around in their sockets from here.

Received: a quick email from one of my best friends with a picture attachment of her at her Convocation yesterday.

Sent: A Reply to her congratulating her and telling her to get her ass on the road and come visit me sometime, or at least to call me

Inbound: a reminder from management to all employees not to destroy certain important documents.

Outbound: A request to my idjit brother to send more information, dammit, about our young cousin’s impending visit back east from Las Vegas. Should I be looking for fun stuff to do? Is he bringing his friend? What are the dates?

Recieved: some pics from a friend (minds out of the gutter, now, please) of him and his date, pre-prom.

Sent: question to the NinjaGuy regarding plans for this weekend (again, minds out of the gutter, please?) Fully innocent and clothed plans.

Both in- and outbound were emails with the sole purpose of containing a noxious email weed called emailus server stautus - we get about 300 messages a day about Unix server status that need to be saved that I’m creating a new email address to dump them into instead of my regular address.

It just feels odd to be emailing about email.

Received: *Arnold Winkelried … Re: SDMB posting re: P2P? *
Regarding this addition to the SDMB guidelines.

Can I be a mod now?

Sent: A bunch of links regarding Nigerian scam. A friend of mine got bit by it, and is a few thou in the hole. Hopefully those links (and the SDMB members who participated in them) will help her out of it.

I saw this thread earlier and WANTED to reply, but I was busy, so I’ll give the BEST of the last e-mail, not work related

  • my bestest friend in the whole wide world is in LOVE - and we’re not teenagers! So that’s cool. She’s 50-something and feeling like a 19-year-old sorority pledge - which I think she was way back then then - but she’s THRILLED! and I’M THRILLED FOR HER! It’s all good when we win, you know?

Work related - I’m done for the evening. Thanks!

Well, that’s my evening, and my e-mail. Night all.

My outgoing was to an old friend who I just had lunch with on Sunday. The back story is that he and his wife had been babysitting my bowling ball for the last nine years (six of which I lived out of the country) and he was finally returning it to me before they all move to Kansas City…had to write and say thanks because they had tucked in some Christmas gifts from the past nine years which had never gotten to me, as well as some gorgeous pictures of their daughter. Yeah, Christmas in June!

Incoming was my boyfriend sending me e-flowers. sigh.

Work relating, transmitting e-copies of a report. (I know… booooooring!)

A black racer (snake) I saw at Stones River National Battlefield a couple days ago.

Received: a message from my friend Lesley saying that she wouldn’t be able to come to my birthday party next Wednesday because she has a meeting.

Sent: a quick message to my friend Winnie thanking her for the reply she wrote to my “come to the birthday party!” email… even though she can’t make it, either.

F_X

Incoming was a friend who had found a record company called by my surname and wanted to tell me about it.

Outgoing was me trying to teach myself to touch type. I just could not sleep last night so thought I should do something useful. The result was a massive 15 page, 4000 and something word splurge of nonsense as I was typing whatever came into my head. I liked to so much I emailed it to my friends.

And u srull can’t touch tupe!
