Not your usual summer vacation – two nights (!) away with friends in a hotel in Weymouth, Dorset (UK). I’ve been wondering how to explain this - so:
Monday: after driving out there (two households, therefore two cars), coffee at the Lookout Café; dinner at Bennett’s fish and chip shop; drinks back at the hotel bar.
Tuesday: breakfast at the hotel; a lunchtime drink in the Smugglers’ Inn, Osmington Mills; a snack at a beach bar (I forget the name) back near the hotel, dinner back at the Smugglers’ Inn, drinks back at the hotel bar.
Wednesday: breakfast at the hotel; a lunchtime drink in The George Inn in Weymouth; lunch at the Lookout Café; and then drive home.
And now we wait. At every one of those establishments they took down our contact details and (usually) arrival and departure times. If someone who was there when we were there gets sick, we’ll be traced and ordered to self-isolate for fourteen days. Since all this started, these are the first times Mrs Trep I have been in a situation where we have had to provide contact details. We have been very diligent in avoiding risk, but if you vacation you have to eat – right?
A week away would have been nice, but I don’t think I could take the stress.
