IE 6.0.2800.1106
I’ve tried other browsers but I just can’t help but come back to good ol’ IE.
I’m in between browsers at the moment.
I had been using IE just because it was there. I prefer Netscape, but I was having some problems with it and just never bothered to reinstall. I tried Opera and I was not really happy with it. I just started using Firefox the other day and I am loving it, so I think I’m going to stick with Firefox.
I was using SquidRectangle or WaterSquirrel, but since the 0.9->1.0 upgrade kicked in, I’m plain old FireFox.
I’m stuck with IE at work though <MoJo JoJo>Curses! </MJ JJ>
Firefox 1.0 on WXPH. IE for those pissy little sites that won’t load in Firefox.
I used to use Opera, switched to MyIE2 for some bizarre reason, and switched back to the newest version of Opera recently when I realized how much I’d missed it. Now I use Opera for everthing except my stupid bank crap, for which I use MyIE2 - er - Maxthon.
I really like Opera’s mail/news client. And I usually keep the window full-screened, so I don’t even notice the ads.
Firefox 1.0 at home. Right now I’m in an internet cafe so here it’s Internet Explorer.
IE at work (SDMB doesn’t work on firefox here).
Safari at home on the Mac, Netscape on the PC.
I was using FireFox 1.0, but I had to click on most links twice- I would keep getting “this document contains no data” @!#@$# error messages.
I have switched to Avant, which has Tabbed browsing, opens with multiple home pages, and saves your pages when you exit. My only complaint is that you can only open one Avant window (with many tabs). With FireFox, I could have several windows open, which made organizing my surfing much easier.
It’s been said above, but I’ll reiterate: It’s amazing how few people use IE unless they absolutely must. It’s understandable on the MacOSX platform, since Mac IE always sucked and is no longer suported; but on the PC side too? It’s quite an eye-opener, knowing IE is built into the system, how averse those who have responded are to it. Interesting that u$oft doesn’t consider Firefox a threat.
Dopers aren’t exactly a representative sample of the population. For one thing, many of us have more than a handful of brain cells.
Firefox 1.0, Gentoo Linux. If I screw something up and can’t get into X; then I use w3m, a lovely text-based browser.
