While (you can look at the pinned notes!) you can see changing versions of the Pit over the years, it is absolutely a place which you participate at your own risk. There are very interesting posters that refuse to post here for that reason.
It also has some of the most freewheeling conversations, with it’s loosened rules, tolerance for hijacks, and freedom from normal forum rules.
So, yeah. There are real risks, and I won’t downplay them. But you get additional freedoms to be yourself, and/or let your freak out.

Yep same here. I haven’t blocked anyone in 25 years and I now just blocked two in one day. It took me a couple of minutes cuz I literally didn’t know how to do it at first.
Every time I saw certain posters pop up my blood pressure would start to rise, and I said to myself this is not healthy I need to do this.
I generally despise the phrase “ignorance is bliss” but I think I understand it better now. And I’m glad I have the self-control not to click that little “show post” button. I still think people should be given the benefit of the doubt generally speaking, but when they’ve shown themselves it’s time to move on. I have better places to be and better things to do both here on the board and off the board then continue to engage with blatant aggressive trolling.

I’m at best a casual observer of the sport of boxing, and I’m no fan of the Pauls (in fact I find their Youtube content rather loathsome) except in that I grudgingly respect their business acumen and their dedication to their athletic careers. That being said, it just rubs me the wrong way that, for someone who claims he “DGAF” about Jake Paul, he can’t even seem to bring himself to mention his name without infantilizing him and referring to him as “a child” or “the littler Paul” or small or weak or completely inexperienced. I like to think that my generation would have learned from how shittily older generations treated us and not grown up to do the same thing to younger people, but I guess in his case the memo didn’t make it through.
