I just didn’t find the Fallout posts to be a problem because I only saw them all together when they were originally posted. Sure, it took a while to fall off the page, but that just meant there were no new posts or replies, because it was so late.
It in fact was the late night post that made me think it was going to be some spammer posting links to supposedly pirated content.
I have things adjusted so that Unread shows me threads that I’ve posted in. That’s much more useful to me than having it show me every thread I’ve ever read. I check Unread; then New; then rather less often Latest.
Yeah, because they force those “flunkies and janitors” to deal with the stress and ugliness they create, while getting paid a lot more to do so and having their smug delusions of superiority polished by underlings and sycophants. The executives themselves are the source of the problem, and the system which produces executives, flunkies and janitors is designed to let the bosses skate on it.

I agree. For quite a few years of my career, I was doing IT consulting for large organizations. It was fascinating to experience the different organizational cultures. Senior executives of course always had control, but what fascinated me were the cultural idiosyncrasies. I won’t name names, but one organization (let’s just say affiliated with the traditional Bell monopoly) had a management culture of blatant hostility – full of infighting between internal groups and hostility both to underlings, vendors, and consultants. Another one (let’s just say a big cable company) had a culture simply characterized as cheapness and incompetence.
But especially apropos to your point, another one (let’s just say a big bank) had such an incredibly entrenched formal hierarchy that even minor executives like department heads were accorded considerable sycophancy by those under them. When an actual senior executive came to visit an office or granted an audience to his underlings, wow, that was something else. Here I don’t mean a mere “vice president” – a typical big bank has thousands of them – I mean someone like a “senior executive vice president” which is code for “a real one”.
When such a god-like creature appeared among the multitude, the sycophancy was just painful to watch. I half-expected some of the subjects to start bowing or prostrating themselves. What this must do to these assholes’ egos I can only imagine. As a consultant, I mostly didn’t give a shit about these rituals. My object was to get the job done and not get fired; I wasn’t angling for a promotion in this hellhole.

Better yet, “I do not think [that amendment] means what you think it means.” Because, as the aptly named (given the thread title) JRDelirious noted, there doesn’t seem to be any connection between the 10th amendment and the “fever dream” scenario posed in the OP.
