I didn’t make it past that troll’s own description of the video. Now, had they said, “This is my comedy routine about my own life as Transgender,” then, maybe I’d’ve given it a go. To me, it was rather obvious that the troll’s effort would be naught but juvenile inanity. ISTM that I was correct, going by the posts of those who tried to watch it.
I haven’t seen any of this spammers threads, but if they’re all just links to his own youtube channel, with nothing else, how is that not spamming?

We got our answer. 
My opinion, when his video posts were mostly harmless, we let it be. Once he starting causing problems and had been making no other posts but his spammy video posts, I moved to have him banned and it was quickly agreed upon. Very fast for us. So I think it was just a matter of me starting the Modloop discussion before someone else did.
Paraphrasing @What_Exit in a joking manner, in line with the thread:
Chrisjourney to Board: “What do you think of THIS?”
Board to Chrisjourney: “What were you THINKING?”
What_Exit to Mods: “I think we should ban them is what I think!”

I don’t think he cared about anything but getting clicks on YouTube. His rant was horrendous, but even if he posted kitten videos it would still be spam, IMO.
Our rules are pretty clear (in ATMB) that a person who posts solely to advertise and doesn’t engage in actual discussion is in violation of spam rules. That fits what was happening perfectly, even if the videos were okay and they didn’t violate other rules.
(My non-mod opinion of course.)

Fwiw, he did engage in discussion regarding his pigeon-feeding videos. And he posted some random ordinary responses in some other threads. So my initial reaction to “here’s me doing stand-up” was that it would be like the pigeon videos, with some banter between him and other posters.
But he really didn’t. And i reached out to him to say that, and he didn’t reply. So he was on thin ice before the transphobic thing.
Fair enough, so it was a bit more than just spamming, but not much more. Understood.

Well, he… ummm… has range, I guess… (but the same “I don’t understand people or how I’m coming across to them” vibes).
I did. And I made sure I watched the whole horrid video first, to ensure I was doing so rightly.
Whatever his underlying motivation, that video did not belong here.
For those of us late to that particular party, his transphobic video was removed from YouTube. At least, it was when I tried to follow the link from here to judge his stuff on my own.
In the “explain Taylor Swift” thread, there’s a tangent about her appearance starting about post 625. Why are we discussing an award-winning woman’s appearance? As if the merits aren’t worth discussing. Still trying to decide if it’s worth reporting, but it gives me the creeps.
