Since Twitter became X, most of my Tweets on the subject have been defending trans people. I’m pretty damn disillusioned with the GC movement. But too many people here are simply looking for an excuse to attack someone; allowing themselves to see the real person rather than a caricature would interfere with that.
Growth is good. I used to be a total conservative at one time.

I just put someone on ignore for IIRC my first time in 18 years here. Mostly to keep myself from telling them how full of shit they are. Why not just tell them? Every time I have gone off on someone, I usually end up regretting it, even if they “deserved" it. If I believed diplomacy would get through to them, I would try.
I can tolerate a lot, but being blamed for my own oppression is not something I can tolerate right now.
I don’t know if the ignore function will be effective or useful.
Yeah, I found that I was letting a couple of people spend far too much time living rent free in my head.
Posters like that are not interested in real discussions so it’s just a waste of time and energy.
The only person here I recall putting on Ignore was cesario, a pedophilia/child pornography advocate that lasted a long time before finally being banned. I was grateful that when he showed on another forum he got banned almost immediately when he started his routine. (Same name, same behavior so I presume it was the same person)
I got curious because I couldn’t remember how long. Looks like he lasted about 5 1/2 months over 15 years ago when there was a lot more free speech absolutism on the board. I doubt he’d last anywhere near that now.

Another curious word: “Cryptofascist” in old money is a fascist who tries to hide his fascism. Not a fascist who trades a lot in crypto;)
