My half-hearted apology. My impression is that wolfpup often says something nasty and then tries to laugh it off as all fun and games, and so i misread the thread.
Fwiw, i thought the major thing wrong with the thread about people wanting more was that it was in FQ, and would have been fine elsewhere. The minor thing wrong was a fat-fingered typo that would have been fixed had the thread not been closed.

I mean, if you’re looking for criticism, I thought the initial snark about an elderly engineer allegedly “getting his own job title wrong” kinda showed your ass a bit. I wouldn’t rate it as strongly as “nasty”, but it came across as rather cluelessly arrogant.
Seemed like you were so eager to dunk on the guy that you didn’t bother to check and find out that the phrase he used actually was a common job title among many engineers of his generation. And then when that was pointed out, there seemed to be no ”oh oops, well I guess the dude did know what he was talking about at least in that instance, my bad” concession, which would have been more magnanimous than a mere ”eh we were all just kidding around”.
Naturally, all of this is said without reference to Pit-specific behavior regulations, which you never came within a county mile of not complying with—-although of course those bars are exceedingly low. And it was a very trivial incident by any standards anyway. But you asked for examples, so.

But I didn’t use “just kidding around” as an excuse – the discussion just spun off into an amusing linguistic tangent, as things are wont to do in the Pit. What surprises me is that @puzzlegal seems to have a preconceived notion of me as tending to be “nasty” to such an extent that she immediately misread someone insulting me as me being the perpetrator, and I’d like to see tangible examples of where that impression comes from. Particularly outside of the Pit, which is pretty much intended for that purpose.
Do you even read your own cites? The “not quite yet” comment would seem to be a cleverly sarcastic link to a cite saying that the oil industry is absolutely booming. What it actually says is that the oil consumption of China, the world’s largest oil importer, has already peaked, and global oil consumption will peak less than three years from now, slightly later than expected.
The chance that Alberta will secede from Canada is somewhat less than the chance that the moon will turn into a giant piece of green cheese tomorrow, but hypothetically if such a thing were to happen, by the time it could possibly come into effect the global oil industry would already be in rapid decline.
Uzi is an established poster who constantly spouts bullshit. That’s exactly what this thread is for, though it’s not the right place to engage with him directly so I will no longer do so.
You didn’t ask if it was booming you stated it was in decline which is flatly wrong. You make a statement and can’t even admit when the facts prove you wrong. Then you have the gall to call me out. I know that the oil industry will be replaced. I also know you don’t leave trillions in the ground that could help you make the transition to something else.

I’m with Dseid. This thread is for posters who don’t deserve their own thread in the pit. I don’t know Uzi well enough to have an opinion, but Dseid sure sounds to me like he’s suggesting Uzi ought to have his own thread, rather than being discussed here.

Uzi is the most disingenuous poster that I’ve seen in a while. The posts in the Carney thread are 100% deflection and changing the subject. He’s as deeply in the right-wing propaganda sphere as any Canadian I’ve come across.
That said, I actually brought up that thread here to put myself over here. Why was I engaging with a MAGA from Canada? What was I thinking? Why is anyone engaging with that brick wall in that Carney thread?? That thread would be a lot more informative if everyone just ignored those deluded posts.
