I remember, two or three years ago (or more), a Mod explaining why the poster in question was allowed to treat this message board like her personal blog in spite of the rules because a) it was easy to recognize her threads with their “word word word” style titles and thereby skip over them, b) because she limited herself to MPSIMS, and c) because she was harmless. None of those being true any more, maybe that rule should be re-visited for this poster.
I remember once, not long after I first noticed her presence here, I called her out for something, fairly mildly, in the Troll thread (before we had this very useful thread) and was visited with vituperation and threats. That punctured something of a hole in the “sweet little old lady” persona for me, and since then I have mostly just scrolled by her posts when I came across them. I guess I’m not the only one. I’ll just note that “auto-Cross-nailing” is a very, very boring and unconvincing strategy (and that I only capitalized “Cross” because it was a direct quote, and is otherwise contrary to my principles).
If I, for some reason, had to live with this person, I would probably consider illness and pain a mitigating factor for bad behavior. It does not, however, do much for me as an excuse for reaching out to abuse strangers on the internet.
It’s an ugly term. Why do I have to be called a whore for wanting to be paid attention to? I see nothing wrong in wanting that.
