She’s not being pitted for being annoying or getting on people’s nerves. She said a bunch of bigoted shit, and then became abusive to anyone who pointed that out, no matter how kind or unkind they were being.
And, yeah, I do think a lot of Dopers who don’t tolerate bigotry either want her to take back that ugly, evil garbage, or to leave the board. That’s not unusual: I can’t say I want her to continue posting if she can’t cut out the bigotry.
Bigotry isn’t a disagreement. It isn’t annoyance. It is morally wrong. Being a SWERF is not better than being a TERF. And you saw what happened to those posters.
I get it. You like her, so you feel sorry for her. But, if you look objectively, she’s not some sort of victim.
And it also disheartens me that @thorny_locust got on board with defending her, too. The other defenders were unfortunately expected—well except I didn’t know they still posted here.
And not you. You I don’t know. But you are severely underplaying the issue with Beck, and having a double standard when it comes to abuse. I suspect you just like Beck, but I ask you to take a step back and pretend it was someone else, and make it about some bigotry you care deeply about.

You realize that calling out ugly verbal abuse is different than defending a particular person correct? As, for a real world example, one can critique Israel’s actions without being a Hamas defender. Some of these personal attacks are grotesque. Why, people are even commenting on her real life medical conditions! The reprehensibility!

“Not liking porn” is not remotely the extent of what you were pushing.
I have little or no opinion on Beck. I think she’s wrong on this issue. I think she’s been told she’s wrong many, many times. If she had gotten a warning or more for what she wrote, I wouldn’t have said a thing. I don’t like seeing a person laying on the ground being kicked. And that what this feels like.

No one has ever told you to stay out of the Pit because you are a woman. You were told that you can’t complain about people being mean to you, and then keep on being mean to everyone else.

And you have said repeatedly that you come here as the only place where you can socialize. Yet here you are attacking the mods. You don’t seem to care if you alienate everyone and lose all the friends you’ve had here.

It’s not about being a woman being put in her place. It’s about understanding where you are on the forum and respecting that. I’ve played in the Pit my entire time here. It’s for everyone. And I have been made to defend my positions in all forums with no regard whatsoever for my gender. That’s as it should be.
If you want respect on this board, become worthy of it. And please, stop making every post about yourself.

Since we’re up to 85 posts in 3 hours just about or by beck, plus most of the previous 75, maybe, just maybe, it’s time to get her her own thread and everyone drop this particular topic from this thread.

SWERF is like TERF. It stands for Sex Worker Exclusive Radical Feminist. It refers to those who attack people who voluntarily choose to do porn or other things.
You did not just attack porn. You attacked women who dare to voluntarily participate in it. And multiple people told you this, and you decided to accuse them of misogyny.
That’s RF part. It’s exactly why YWTF and DemonTree did what they did.

She jumped into this thread to make it about herself and succeeded. You are misrepresenting what has happened here. Same in the other Pit thread. There is a decent chance she is enjoying the attention, no idea.
