That’s how that came to me, yes. 
Evidently the domain name commanders.com was transfered to MarkMonitor (where other NFL teams are registered) yesterday, fueling speculation that the team name will be the Washington Commanders. Could be better, could be worse.
Yeah, I’m not jazzed about that name.
But apparently the Washington team has always used GoDaddy domains, so that could mean nothing.
I’m still rooting for the Groundhogs.
I expect the worst. Since around 1980, big-time sports teams have generally not come up with good names.
I think hockey is the exception. The Sharks, Predators, Coyotes, and Kraken are all pretty good names.
Yes, I dig all of those.
Jaguars and Titans are okay. (I didn’t check to confirm they were post 1980)
But The Mighty Ducks is not.
OTOH, I could go for the Washington Football Team to be renamed the Sharks, Predators, Coyotes, or Kraken!
Washington Sharks is a name that works on multiple levels. 
That’s way too long!

And if not, the Washingtonians could adopt snazzy dark uniforms and call themselves the All-Blacks.
Yes, both are post 1980. Agreed that the Jaguars are okay. I disagree about the Titans. Then again, I’m still not over the Oilers leaving Houston.
