I have a small collection of old perfumes and scents. I came across a bottle of smelling salts recently that I had bought in the 1960’s. I had not been able to get the top off of the bottle since the 1970’s. (I’ve tried ever couple of years.) This time the top came off without any problem.
A few days later I tried the tops of other scents. These tops have been stuck for 15 to 40 years. All of them came off easily as if they were used daily. These are all screw-on caps. (It did not work for a stopper bottle.)
What could cause this sudden “cooperation”?
Just in case it is related, my husband and I have both been having an unusual number of sinus problems and these problems have involved our eyes. Friends have also mentioned the unusual number of sinus problems.
Yesterday a newscast mentioned that our city (Nashville) is #2 in the nation for respiratory illnesses. (We are in a “dimple” surrounded by hills.)
Finally, temperatures have been up and down all month. One day it will be 56 degrees. That night there will be a little snow on the ground and 36 hours later the temps will be in the 60’s.
Is any of this possibly related to the loosening of the caps on the perfume bottles?
