What would you buy the moment it came on DVD if it was ever released?

First they were released sequentially (by series). Finally they made a boxset of all the episodes. I see it at Costco fairly often. Kind of pisses me off actually because the boxset is less than half the price of all the individual releases put together (which I dutifully bought).

I was all set to come in here and complain that The Flight of Dragons was never released on DVD since I’ve been searching for it for years. Then, as I went to Amazon to get a link, I found out that it was released on DVD back in November. Yay, Amazon order time!

Still waiting for Cast a Deadly Spell with Fred Ward, Clancy Brown, Julianne Moore and David Warner. “Los Angeles 1948. Everybody uses magic”

I’m afraid to play my old VHS copy anymore - I think it will fall to dust.

Also waiting on A New Leaf with Walter Matthau and Elaine May. A completely different sort of rom com and some of Matthau’s best work (imho).

Update. There is a Region 2 PAL DVD. Several Ebay sellers from England have it. I think it’s legit. I plan to order a dvd next week. My PC has a region free drive.

Still waiting for Region 1 version of “1492: Conquest of Paradise”

Would also like an anamorphic version of “The Hollywood Knights”.

Get A Life, the complete series.

I forgot something: Muppet Family Christmas. But we’ll probably never see it because the rights to the music are too expensive/impossible to get.

This. Though maybe not for quite the same reasons…

It was a movie. It was made in a different time. Preventing anyone from ever seeing it again doesn’t unmake it, it just makes it impossible to ever have a rational discussion about it.

AfterMASH. No, it wasn’t great, but my complete MAS*H DVD set still feels a bit incomplete without it.

Brandy and Mr.Whiskers

I have a CD of some songs and sketches, and watched a couple episodes at the Museum of Television and Radio in New York City a few years ago. The show wasn’t completely forgotten.

I’d get season (series) 2 of The Games, a mockumentary about the organizing of the Sydney Olympics. It starred John “the front fell off” Clarke; his website used to promise that season 2 was coming, now there’s not even that.

LATE BREAKING NEWS: I just checked the website to confirm that last bit, and it’s there! I’ve been waiting years for this. Now, let’s see if they can deliver this one in less than seven weeks.

<Robot happy dance>

I have the DVD, but it’s got some really annoying edits. You’re probably better off just waiting.

Many of those are available on DVD.

I’m waiting for a NA release of Going Postal.

Similarly, the 1959 Porgy and Bess film.

Leonard Maltin made a compilation/documentary of the Fleischer Brothers cartoons called “Cartoon Madness”. Great stuff! Sadly, only available on VHS.

I’m pretty sure you’re allowed to tell me.

This may be, but they are different then the original showings of the show. Now they are more like a movie and they cut Old Indy out entirely. What they did was stick two shows together that somewhat belong. The extras are great though, even though I’ve never watched even half of them.

A DVD of the theatrical release of One From The Heart. They released a DVD a little while back, but Coppola apparently listened to his critics and re-edited the film. It destroyed the flow of the film. In the original cut, the whole first reel was a series of scenes that connected with optical transitions - scrims, mirrors - utterly brilliant stuff! The music commented on the action on screen. The new edit broke that. It was what made the original film great, and the attempt to make it more conventional destroyed what made it special.

I’ll be watching my laserdisc.
