I startedto write a setup with Burroughs-Libby continua buggies and MIB neuralizers and some other crap but then I said fuck that shit. I’ll just get down to brass tacks.
Consider the experiences you enjoy the most: your favorite book, movie, game, whatever. If you could have all memory of any single one of them wiped, so you could experience it as if for the first time, what would it be, and why?
Never, the first time sucked ass. However, there was a specific person…but even then I’d like to go in knowing what I know now.
There are a few books I’ve often wished I could erase my mind of and read again, fresh, and have that adventure again.
I still love that musical, but nothing is quite like listening to Len Cariou and Angela Lansbury singing “Have a Little Priest” for the first time. It’s so surprisingly funny.
Under the blanket with the one I had an aching crush on for 3 long years then never saw again. Cruelty of life happens and we slip into different dimensions that’s out of our control… especially when you are 16.
Or the first time I got stoned and heard Page’s Stairway to Heaven solo. I thought I figured out exactly how to play it in my head… NOT. But it was just awesome nevertheless.
Star Wars. Not the whole thing, really. Just that opening shot with the Star Destroyer.
Although, properly, I suppose I’d have to also forget about all the movies that referenced or satirized it. It would really suck to see that for the first time, and think, “Ah, he’s just ripping off Spaceballs.”
I’d never want to relive my first experience with pot - it was terrifying. But there are many movies and TV shows I wish I could forget so I could have the experience of seeing them again. The Shield,The Sopranos,Twin Peaks, etc. Video games too. Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3, Heavy Rain, all the Resident Evils, Half-Life, etc.
