Crab tacos!
To add to the crab n’ eggs suggestions, I used to make a simple and delicious Chinese dish called Fu Rong Xie Rou…stir-fried eggs with crab.
Marinate the crab meat for 20 minutes in a little sake and a slice or two of fresh ginger. Heat a tablespoon of neutral oil in your wok, add a touch of sesame oil and some salt (and the crab) and stir fry until The liquid evaporates. Remove the crab to a plate.
Put a little more oil in the wok with some minced scallion and ginger. When it starts to smell nice – 30 seconds? – pour in 6 beaten eggs and the crab. Stir fry over medium heat until the eggs are just set.
The wife found three great recipes for dungeness crab, so we bought a pound of crab meat ($40!) and made the crab cakes. They were delicious. Next up will be crab with linguine and lemon.
If I could get other fresh seafood (shrimp, fish, oysters, etc…) I’d throw it into a pot of gumbo with the rest.
If that’s all I had, probably crab salad sandwiches.
Melted butter. Done.
I saw a 2 lb. package of picked lobster meat, over $60! … I bought a big bag of (peeled) cooked langstinos, like little lobster tails. So far I’ve put them in lobster bisque (from the hot bar at the grocery). I may make ‘lobster rolls’ with the grilled hot dog rolls, cold with mayo, lemon, celery, and a dash of Old Bay. Or butter and lemon, hot.
Frankly, nothing. I’ve never had good luck. Even with the fresh-ish “canned” crab meat that has to be refrigerated (last time I broke down and got some, I made rangoon, but it was still pretty crappy). But, since you have bought it already, I’d probably add it to a nice tuna salad, an asopao (seafood stew) or maybe a cream cheese-green onion-crab dip.
With canned crab?
This is pretty much the only answer.
I’d make someone else happy when I gave them a can of crab meat.
I would donate it to the food pantry, because I don’t like crab. I don’t even like the smell, and whenever I had to serve it at the restaurant I worked at in college, I would hold my breath while I carried it out to the table.
I’d make a crab dip, probably trying a new recipe instead of just redoing one I’ve had before.
Am I the only one who prefers Krab over Crab?
I’m gonna have to go with “probably”. I’ve caught, cooked, and eaten several metric shitloads of crabs, mostly blue swimmers and stone. Loved every single bite. I can handle some krab in certain dishes but it would never be my preference.
Piss off Anthony Bourdain by adding it to Mac n cheese. I like curried crab, jerk crab and General Tao’s crab too.
It tastes much better than sheep dip.
Only if it has the word “Krusty” in front of it.

Crabbykraut. Stir crab with sauerkraut, serve on toasted bread.
Cat food. I can’t stomach shellfish.
Crab cakes, all day…
