Whatcha Drivin' ?

1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee. V8 engine, 4-wheel drive, platinum exterior, gray interior.

Named “Enterprise” by my Star Trek-loving friend who was with me the first day I took the Jeep off-road. I thought it was a fitting name, so I kept it.

1989 Honda Civic – General drive around to work car.
1972 Buick Skylark Custom Convertable – Red with White top…very much my favorite fun to drive car.
1994 Saturn SC1

Deal.

2000 BMW 323i, Orient Metallic Blue
Robot Arm doesn’t care for the redesigned 3 series. He’s quite obviously mad as a hatter.

Me: 1999 Ford Explorer 4WD, Red, inherited from dead father-in-law. Nice to know he cared.

Mrs Chance: 1999 Jeep Wrangler 4WD, Green with Tan soft top. Most specifically her wheels. I just get to maintain it.

Here in the mountains it’s nice to know that we’re the few…the proud…

4WD owners with justification babee!

AFAIK, that’s it. Last time it was registered and inspected was in '82. 13,000 miles in 10 years? Maybe she only drove it to church on sundays…

Wow, that Jeep looks hurt alright. Did you hit a guard rail with the right front end?

No. A '99 Ranger hit it at 70 mph. The Jeep jumped out of gear when I was turning left across a divided highway, just past a hill. He came over the hill, swerved a little but not near as much as he could have, didn’t slow down at all…I ended up pointing the same way he was going. Amazingly, I wasn’t hurt at all, and the body’s perfect behind the firewall. Now that I have the Nova, I’ll have plenty of time to work on the Jeep…

Attempt at a “drawing” of it: (OOO=median, |=path of Ranger, i,–=path of Jeep, *=point of impact, V,v,^,<=directional indicators)

A 1975 model flesh-colored pair of feet.

Me: 2000 Infiniti I30t, ‘Dark Metallic Bronze’ I call it Shiny Brown

Mrs. 29813: 1996 Explorer 4X4 Limited, Dark Blue

For the weekend: 1969 Ford F-100 Prerunner, primer white. Just completed the roll cage and new front suspension. When it is all done (many months and huge dollars from now) it will race in SCORE and Best in the Desert class 8.

1995 Cadillac Sedan DeVille. Blue.

And, as the local Cadillac zealot, I have to ask: Muffin, what kinda Caddy are you rollin’?

During winter and when in the sticks and/or towing the boat, an '85 Ford F-150, 4WD, 351 V-8 and 4 bbl, extended cab, long box. Approximate size, shape, and color of a locomotive, but gets slightly poorer mileage (we’re talking single digits). Known as “the Smog Machine”. Makes a slightly tree hugging type like myself into a hypocrite, but at least it’s used for more than trips to the grocery store.

During better weather, a '95 Chrysler LeBaron convertible, red with white top, known simply as “the Drop Top”.

Interesting (maybe) ones from the past include an '86 Chev Caprice that was a retired highway patrol interceptor, known as “the Fuzzmobile”. Great car, I’d probably still be driving it if I were smarter. Also an '86 white Bronco II purchased exactly one week before the whole O.J. Simpson thing, and thus dubbed “O.J.”. Looked cool, but was a complete piece of crap. Last but not least, an orange '73 Fiat Spyder 1600 Sport (2-seater convertible, maximum rated capacity: 350 lbs.), known as “the Speed Buggy” (like in Scooby Doo - the only thing missing was the roll-bar).

1993 Pontiac Bonneville. Black.

1997 SATURN SC2, dark green. Love the car, but I really lust for a 1958 STUDEBAKER GOLDEN HAWK!

'92 Yamaha Seca II 600. To be upgraded to a Ducati in 79 days.

Spiny, I hate you, but only because I’m jealous.

2000 VW Jetta GLX VR6 - Quick and Silver on black leather (of course).
1998 Volvo V70 Turbo AWD - Black on tan leather and awsome in the snow and rain.

during the winter a 96 Ford Escort Station Wagon. I like this car, loads of room and good milage.

during the other 9-10 months of the year a 2000 Kawasaki Concours.

Mrs. Head drives a 95 Mustang.

Plus I’ve got a '67 Mustang, 96 Shadow VLX, and 92 Nighthawk in the garage.

I regularly drive a 1983 Toyota Celica GT. I’m the original owner (18 years on March 20) and it has 125,000 miles on it. It runs great but the body is disappearing before my eyes from too many Wisconsin winters.

We also have a 1995 Dodge Gran Caravan SE, a 1990 Honda Accord DX and a 1950 Plymouth Special Deluxe.

Hey, my car’s named Stella, too! It’s a 1997 Saturn SL2. Dark green. My first car! I’ve had her less than 3 months. She’s great.
