Grrr…right now, a rental car. 98 Ford Escort, 4 doors, not sporty at all. Not a bad car, but it’s not my own.
Recently totalled by my adorable little sister without a driver’s license, I had a 96 chevy cavaliet, GT model, 2 door, spoiler, sunroof, CD player, awesome condition. And it really handled speed well. I could take it to 100 and not even notice. 105, then it was pushing. My rental car gets to about 75, then it begins shaking. Very scary.
Speaking of, anyone know of any good cars out there? I need something relatively cheap (I have no trade in value, very little down payment, and no savings), but that runs good, and preferably, is cute. Any suggestions?
'95 Chevy Corsica, 80,000 miles. Can’t really call it pink, or purple, how about raspberry?
I’m driving a 1992 Toyota Celica GT with only 36,500 miles. It was my grandpa’s when he lived in Minneapolis, but he sold it to me when he moved down here. He didn’t drive it much up there (it had only 32,000 miles when I got it in mid-August) and he bought it from the owner of an accessories shop up there, who had installed an alarm, remote start and sunroof in it before selling it so he could buy a Supra. Mom and Dad drive a 2000 Volvo C70 and a 1996 Dodge Grand Caravan, respectively, and Dad keeps a 1957 Chevy Bel-Air in the garage, where it looks good, I guess.
'97 Honda Passport with the truck-style tail gate. It’s just wide enough to fit a full 4X8 sheet of plywood in the back.
2000 Suzuki Esteem Wagon.
Name: “BarbaraJean” (When I first got her, everyone said, “Oh, how cuuuute!” “CuteCar” just didn’t cut it, so she became “BarbaraJean” - such a ‘soccer mom’ name.
Great car until the engine trouble at 11,000 miles and the dealership is still yanking me around on it.
She is getting returned to the dealership under the lemon law, heck or high water.
2000 Volvo station wagon, white, grey interior. Just bought it 2 weeks ago!
Me too. I got my 2000 Subaru Legacy GT Limited in ‘Titanium Pearl’ color last February. Almost a year, and I love it more every day. It was great in the recent snow with the AWD, lots of fun.
Lawmill:
Could have sworn I saw one on eBay for $3500.
The SC has a different interior? Mine’s black with thick blue stripes down the middle of the seats.
1997 Chev 1500 (1/2 ton), about 140,000 kms. (Company vehicle.)
1992 Plymouth Voyager. Base Model, with 3.0L v6. FWD. But it’s mine! HA! You can drive it in the
It’s a cool van, with two toddlers still in car seats it’s handy. Would be better if I had a 4door model, but I couldn’t afford one of those then.
My next vehicle, assuming this one goes dead (perish the thought), will be something with ground clearance. A Old Suburban would be nice. v8, can hit potholes and not ruin the suspension.
Oh, and Juliana and I have agreed that if we ever get the money, we are installing a sound system that would make those puny “Thump Thump” systems green with envy.
I’m still the only one driving a Puggy (Peugeot)!!
Then again, it helps that Peugeot doesn’t export to the US anymore (since 1995 or so, although I do believe you can still get them in Canada - and I KNOW they’re available in OZ)
No, $3500 is closer to the going rate. I spent so long looking for mine and like it so much, that you would have to pay me much more than the going rate.
Other than the “Boost” LED, the SC’s interior is the same as the NA’s in almost every aspect. On the outside, I get the raised decklids, teardrop wheels, dual exhaust, and supercharger decals. I’m not sure about what the NA has, I haven’t seen an '88 in a while.
Hmm, Toyota had 3 years to improve things between your car and mine. The '88 has the handbrake on the passenger side of the shifter, different ashtray arrangement, different tach, more speakers, and the 3 spoke wheel.
1985 Chrysler 5th Ave. Great tank.
Gets about 6-8 mpg around town. Could double as the Titanic without too much trouble.
Oh yeah, it does 0-60 mph is about a day.
