Me, I thought it was okay…Chandler not in it enough. I know, Michael Perry’s whole rehab thing. Monica was sort of a bitch about the whole thing…She’s been kind of annoying though, throughout. I personally preferred Ross and Emily’s wedding.
I’m thinking maybe the father is Tag…but she did break it off. Maybe they got back together? Or Ross…that would be too much.
Kathleen Turner was pretty cool, and now we’ve seen all their parents, with the exception of Phoebe’s mom, for obvious reasons…
I think she was the perfect choice to play Chandler’s father/other mother.
However, did anyone catch (I had taped it and replayed just to make sure I had this right) that Rachel said Monica couldn’t have taken the pregnancy test the night before because she (Rachel) emptied the trash that morning? My question is: if Rachel is pregnant and indeed use all the tissues and toilet paper (I’m assuming crying), then why didn’t she empty the trashcan containing the test? I’m leaning toward someone else is pregnant and they threw the last glimpse of Rachel in there just to throw us off.
I thought that was lame too. If I were pregnant and wasn’t ready to tell anyone, that pregnancy test wouldn’t have been in the wastebasket. Straight down the incinerator chute! But I suppose you could chalk it up to discombobulation. At least I was vindicated that they were jumping to conclusions, thinking that Monica was pregnant just because they found the test. As I’ve told Mr. S, unless she tells you herself OR you actually see an infant emerging from her birth canal, never assume that ANYONE is pregnant.
Dr. F, i meant her “adoptive” mother, not her birth mom. Sorry if i wasn’t more clear.
Also…why would Rachel be throwing away a pregnancy test in the bathroom at Mon and Chan’s apt, when she lives with Joey? In fact what is she doing emptying out their trash…? Color me confused.
Kathleen Turner seemed to be revving up for her one-woman Tallulah Bankhead show, which she is taking from London to New York this year. I love Kathleen in just about anything . . . Hope the show goes over better than it did in the UK (it’s one of THREE Tallu shows on B’way this year!), daaahhhlings . . .
Kathleen Turner <insert plnnr doing the Homer Simpson throws back his head, eyes glaze over, drool seeps from his mouth thing, guttural noises from his throat>
Not to hijack this thread (well, not too much), I can sympathize with William Hurt in Body Heat. Kathleen Turner would just have to let me get the slightest whiff of her perfume and I’d turn into a quivering lump of protoplasm.

About the pregnancy test thing…I was discussing this with the girl that I’m dating, and she told me that after 20 minutes, it’s entirely possible to have a false positive on one of those tests anyway. So, do you think that that’s where the writers are going? Maybe the test sat out too long because of Chandler’s disappearance, and Rachel having to keep Monica occupied, and read false?

I’m thinking they filmed a couple possible endings. Did anyone else notice there was no “live audience” reaction to finding the test? No gasps or anything.
I read a spoiler (by someone who was supposedly at the taping) that was right on target for all the other plotlines, except it was Chandler who found the pregnancy test at the apartment, not Phoebe and Rachel. He had gone there when he ran from the hotel and Ross found him in the bathroom with the test.
And it ended with Monica being the one who was pregnant…Chandler said he knew about the baby and she said something like, “Oh, I was worried you would freak out.”
Hmmmm, you don’t think the producers and writers would screw with us, do you?
Ah, brain fart. I meant Matthew Perry, honest I did!
Anyway, in bio we learned last year that there basically is no explanation for a positive…our teacher said that if it says negative, it might mean that the test isn’t picking up on this certain chemical yet, but if there’s even the littlest amount of the substance, it says positive. So a negative test means you could or could not be, but a positive always means pregnant…
It would be a real cop out if the test was just wrong. I want a pregnancy on the show, damnit!
Mrs. Spritle loves “Friends”. She even has the VCR set to tape it automatically. (can you see where this is going yet?) She was set to tape the show Thursday. She even made sure the VCR had a tape in it and was turned off - ready to tape. (too visible yet?)
Well, the VCR is programmed to tape the half hour show, which it did - swimmingly, in fact. However, as you know, and she didn’t, Thursday night’s “Friends” was ONE HOUR!! Of course, she missed the second half.

If anyone has it on tape, and would be willing to send it to me, please e-mail me. I’d gladly reimburse postage and/or mail the tape back if you wish. (In case you taped the episode at the end of the wedding video or something.)

What if its someone totally out of left field who’s pregnant, like Monica’s mom?
We have to cover all the possibilities so that we won’t be surprised in the fall when we see the season premiere, and give the “Friends” writers the satisfaction of our complete astonishment.
That said…
[li]Could it be Phoebe (again)? Yearning for one of her own? Maybe she’s putting on a really good front. Including finding her own pregnancy test and pretending its Monica’s.[/li]
[li]First male pregnancy on a sitcom. Joey realizes he may never find the perfect woman and decides to…well, I’m not sure what.[/li]
[li]Chandler’s mom and Ross had another tryst that ended with more than just a kiss.[/li]
[li]Spies planted it there.[/li]
[li]The chicken and the duck have finally managed to mate. (And go down to the drug store and pay for a preg. test.)[/li]
[li]This is Monica’s little hint that she wants to start a family, but she’s being all coy about it. Or she really is pregnant and didn’t want to say anything at the wedding.[/li]
Artificial insemantation…maybe Rachel really wants a kid and is getting all teary because she’s so happy for Monica and Chandler, and for herself…
You’re going to hate me for this, Spritle, but if I’d read this thread about 9 hours earlier you’d be in luck. Unfortunately, I tape over the season finale of Friends for the season finale of Boston Public. Sorry.
Can’t wait for the show to lose ratings and go off the air, huh? Quick, name ONE show that’s gotten BETTER with the inclusion of a kid. Can’t do it. Not possible. Adding a baby into every show would fuck it quick. Ben’s just a fun side project for when they need a kid. A pregnancy would ruin a show that’s already declined quite a bit.
She (KT) seemed soooo laid back. I would have liked her to be more peppy.
As for the joys of recording TV shows, I was recording the finale of the X-files and about 45 seconds before the end the tape reached the end and stopped. Which if you’ve seen the episode occurs right before the MAJOR thing. lol, woe is me.
As for the baby. It HAS to be Rachel's baby. The way they zoomed in on her. It can't be Phoebe because all she had to do with the test to keep it secret was not bring it out.
I wouldn't worry about the baby too much **Homer** It sounds like they're setting themselves up for the series finale which will be a year from now, but they can go ahead and fudge it a bit. I don't think they would jerk us around with a false positive. My take was that Aniston had told the producers that she was thinking about having a baby with hubby and they wrote it in as a possibility. It may be up for grabs however as to whether she will go through with the pregnancy. Probably her pregnancy is no more then a month or two old. This show aired May 17 she broke up with Tag Feb 8. I think if it was him she would of known earlier. Of course they were planning a wedding, things get delayed. I don't think it's Ross. Although they could with a flashback, but that seems a little hack. It's probably from some inconsequential one-night stand. A CrAzY night. Maybe it's, God forbid, Paulo. But I do think they will get Ross and Rachel back together again. It will be kinda like a pared down version of the Brady Bunch, except with some lesbians
Well, I have not been keeping up with my supermarket tabs—is Jennifer Aniston expecting a “Pitt the Younger?” That would certainly explain a pregnancy plot.
