Bruce Waitzkin describes child chess prodigy Jeff Sarwer, nemesis of his son Josh Waitzkin, in less than flattering terms.
However, a quick google search fails to turn up anything concrete other than the fact that he was indirectly involved in some litigation a while back.
Any news on this young man? He would be pushing 30 today, I imagine.
Did you at least read any stories from 1989, where Children’s Aid Society was suing to take custody of him and his sister, away from their lunatic father?
Children’s Aid did get them, but they escaped and lived “on the lam” for years. Julia, his sister, sued Vanity Fair in 1995 over their story about the father’s abuse. I can’t find a resolution of the case.
Hmmmmmmmmmm… I wonder if he’s pulled a Bobby Fishcer and is living off the grid somewhere. 
I’d say that Bobby Fischer is hardly off the grid.
