I’ve always liked that story, and a mention of a ‘loaded goat’ in the Andy Griffith thread brought him to mind.

He is quite conservative and seemed as he faded out to be increasingly unhappy with liberal attitudes around here. I hope I’m not being presumptuous when I say that, but that’s my recollection. Maybe if I say something sufficiently incorrect he’ll be tempted to drop in to correct me
