Whatever happened to.......

Fiona Apple?
http://criminal-incognito.tripod.com/id8.html

Zebra is thinking of Fiona Apple. She had a pretty decent mildly successful (I think?) album around 2005 or 2006.

thanks for the link–and remind me never to work with billy bob thornton!!! (see the news on jim varney’s imdb page)

What happened to Scott Baio (sp?) and John Davidson?

I remember wanting to kill to the TV whenever either one was on screen during the late 70’s/early '80’s.

Isn’t a sculptor an artist?

That link brought up a whole page of his bronze sculptures.

Scott Baio has had a reality show on VH1 recently about his marriage and new fatherhood. Can’t say that I’ve watched.

How about Jaleel White (“Urkel”)?

Even better – to drive this thread right into the ground – what’s Tom Arnold up to these days?

I actually saw her in concert a little over a year ago. She’s a little bit nuts, but I love her music.

But she was the only one in that video. Not a bunch of different people. Although I guess I can see how it would make sense, what with the “strung on heroin” look, which definitely fits Fiona Apple and “Criminal”.

And Extraordinary Machine came out in 2005, “O Sailor” is an awesome song.

There are at least 3 people in the video, and several different versions of Fiona that could easily be misremembered as different people after 11 years. O Sailor was alright but I thought the title track on Extraordinary Machine was the best.

You know reading this thread maked me think that Zebra is obsessed with Fiona Apple.

But yeah, that’s her.

Re: Sade - I seem to recall a run-in with the law two or three years ago.

Re: Mel Gibson - recently loaned a holiday house to Britney Spears, according to last week’s tabloids. They are apparently friends.

He also seems to have been finding work as a producer–Carrier, for example. There was also Apocalypto. He’s got three movies coming out in the next year. Not sure how he qualifies as a “whatever happened to…” kind of guy.

Er…what? I distinctly remember seeing his campaign flyers all over campus, and that he had sparked an interest in the Libertarian Party in a lot of students who didn’t like Bush or Kerry. Hell, Libertarianism was the talk of the town. I found myself debating people about it all the time. I also remember being surprised to find out that he had run as a Democrat before. I can’t be imagining all this. I’m willing to concede that it might have just been someone with a really similar name, though.

From above:

Michael Badnarik was the LP 2004 candidate. No sign that Dukakis ever got involved at all with the LP.

He (Dukakis) has been a PoliSci professor & active in Democratic campaigning Wikipedia.

Diane Keaton? She has a red hot movie career, and has made at least one movie, and sometimes two or three, almost every year since 1971. In 2004 she won a Golden Globe and was Oscar-nominated for “Something’s Gotta Give”. Last year she made “Because I Said So”, which was a major movie, although I don’t think it ended up doing that well at the box office. Earlier this year she was one of three stars (along with Katie Holmes and Queen Latifah) of “Mad Money”, another major movie. According to the IMDB she has three movies in development.

Huh. Badnarik. Wonder how I got that mixed up with Dukakis.

He died of AIDS in 1994.
