What's after death?

Death adder, if the dictionary is to be believed.

ETA: Dammit, Thudlow, you beat me to it.

“and taxes”

Nothing is after death. Death lasts forever.

You will receive total consciousness.

What’s after death for the salad you had at lunch, or the burger you had last week? The ant you stepped on years ago?

Well that’s nice.

I honestly find it difficult to understand anyone who thinks that there’s anything at all after death, Sure, it’s a nice fantasy, but there’s no scientific explanation, nor is there any verifiable proof for any kind of existence post-death.

I like to take it to extremes:

Do ants exist after death? No.
Do Crickets exist after death? No.
Do frogs exist after death? No.
Do cats exist after death? No.
Do chimpanzees exist after death? No.
Do humans exist after death? No.

We’re only animals like the rest of the animals. We have the ability to reason and communicate and it’s really been great for us. But we’re animals. That’s all we are. We’re animals who can reason and communicate.

Once you’ve killed your enemy, there’s not much more you can do to them. Move on to the next enemy.

Kinda stepped on my point there, LF.

Afterdeath is like afterbirth, only messier.

Pie.

Also, appropriately enough, an anagram of FATE THREAD.

I could tell you, but then I’d have to kill you… :dubious:

Technically speaking, wouldn’t it be simpler to just combine the two? Show, not tell.

There is no after death. The last moment of life lasts an etermity.

After death there comes the mourning.
After the morning comes the night.
By the knight stands the bishop.
Beyond the bishop is the Pope.
The Pope has very serious convictions.
After a serious conviction, you can get life.
Therefore, life after death is possible.

You’re welcome.

I don’t know what comes after our body dies but I’ve always found it very difficult to believe that all that we are ends when our body ceases to function. Who we are, our spirit?, our essence? Or whatever you want to call it is a wondrous thing. I refuse to believe that this is it for us… Nope, this isn’t it for me!

Well too bad, that’s what all evidence and logic say happens. Where do the programs on a computer go if you melt it to slag? Do they have magic program souls too like people say our brain’s software has?

True. And all that’s in our brain. And once the brain switches off, it’s gone.

You’ve given this some thought…good…GOOOOOOD!
