What's Dad getting for Father's Day?

His very first pedicure. (He’s 80 years old)

My husband will be receiving a Heavy Duty 10" compound mitre saw from Mini2U and a all expenses paid day at the racetrack from me.

My dad was a hurtful SOB who rarely had a good word to say to me when he was alive. If I were to give him anything now, it would be a bottle of wine sprinkled on his grave. After I drank it.

My best wishes and blessings to each of you picking out a card and a gift for your dad. Remember how lucky you are.

From my wife, I’m getting a weekend backpacking trip.

The first time I’ve gotten to go in 10 years!

I just wish she was going with me.

(Actually, she has a standing invitation. But she has zero interest. :frowning: )

My dad is deceased. Since the kids are small, I’m their proxy. They are having a treasured drawing made by grandpa (daddy’s dad)(also deceased) nicely framed for daddy.

My dad’s getting a bat house. I hope he likes it better than the metrosexual shirt we got him for his birthday.

Get him a multi-tool, unless he already has one. They come in all sizes and price ranges. It’s a great gift for a woman, too.

If he has a favorite food treat, and is not prohibited from eating it, then get that. Just try to get the best quality you can, even if it’s not a huge amount of it. Again, this advice applies to women, too. For instance, I’d much rather have a small box of Godiva chocolate than 10 pounds of that dreadful cheap tasteless chocolate they put out for Easter.

I am getting my dad a new grill. The one he has is really small & really rusted. He needs a new one, but he is too cheap to go out and buy a new one.

A toast.

Last year I got my Dad a boxed set of the Sid Ceasar comedy videos. He also likes Monty Python. Try and think of things from his younger days.

Same as last year. Ignored by all four of my children.

As our oldest child is 3 I am the proxy purchaser for my husband’s gift.

He got a Dragon’s Lair arcade game to restore. He’s been excitedly scrounging parts now for a couple of weeks. He got it early as it was kind of difficult to hide - especially since we both work out of the house and are home all the time.

My father gets nothing - haven’t seen him in many many years and do not want to ever see him.

My FIL will be getting some nice nuts and fruit. He has a lot of “stuff” and he can’t do his hobbies any longer due to his alzheimer’s. He’s only 56 :frowning:

I got my Dad some Armani aftershave… he was running low and the other one he used wasnt very nice

Dad’s getting a DVD from my brother and his fam (it is most likely a western or a war pic), and the VHS of Captain Horatio Hornblower from me.

He’s getting a Disney World picture frame and a coffeemaker (by request) from my sister and I.

I won’t be home, but I did help with the gift selection process.

My dad is getting some homemade peanut brittle and maybe some mixed-nut brittle also. It’s his favorite candy of all time. He hates us to buy him things, but he loves the peanut brittle.

SuburbanPlankton got his gift this weekend at the Western States Horse Expo…new Ariat riding boots. I told him to pick out any pair he wanted, not to worry about price. He picked out a pair that’s very versatile and will be great for working out in the pasture as well. Plus now he doesn’t have to ride in his tennis shoes which is dangerous.

I will send my father a card; in addition, my mom bought him some cherry cordials and other cherry and blueberry candies, which she will give to him in my name. (My family is very big on presents-by-proxy. I hate to think of the day I have to buy something myelf.)

As for me, I’m going to a Father’s Day party at Gymboree. Woohoo. However, my son’s mother may also decide to sex me up for the occasion, and while at 20 months, my son has nothing to do with that, I thank him all the same.
