What's for lunch?

Fresh fruit smoothie.

Barbecued chicken, red beans and rice, baked sweet potato with butter and pumpkin pie spices, iced tea. For dessert, a slice of toffee coffee cake and a scoop of creme brulee ice cream. Cafe au lait.

At one of my local hang-outs, having half a chicken salad sandwich (they make it good, with very little mayo) and a cup of corn chowder. Damn good soup!

I threw some chicken stock, leftover chicken and odds and ends of veggies into the crockpot early this morning, so it shall be soup for lunch today. Accompanying the soup will be a little bowl of fresh berries.

Mac and cheese with shrimp, Texas toast and ice water.

Today I’m planning to have a simple salad: shredded lettuce, Hidden Valley Greek Yogurt Ranch dressing, and croutons. Maybe topped with bacon bits if I’m feeling fancy. I might also have some light string cheese.

Lunch at the Diner: Coffee, eggs, French fries, and toast with jelly.

Turkey, Swiss cheese, tomato, and Miracle Whip on a brioche bun. Little bit of leftover macaroni salad. Crystal Lite lemonade.
mmm

Strawberry frosted Pop-Tarts and orange juice.

In stark contrast to yesterday’s salad, I am seriously considering ordering a pizza for lunch (and dinner) today.

I just got back from lunch. We were out sightseeing and window-shopping in Palo Alto, and as noon approached we yelped up some local restaurants. We chose “Indo”, an Indonesian restaurant.

We ordered satay, green papaya salad, roti and a shrimp dish in red curry. I had forgotten how sublime Indonesian food is; I only had it a couple of times before, years ago. To me, it tastes like the halfway point between Thai and Indian cuisine.

Indo has become a destination restaurant for us.

I’m starting to get hungry and I’m going to have lunch soon. I’m going to have a bowl of tuna/macaroni salad.

Tuna/macaroni salad sounds *awesome *right now!

I had an Uncrustable and a protein-and-fiber bar. I’m still a little hungry, so I’m about to have some low-cal Greek yogurt.
