What's going on with Chromium, or maybe the SDMB?

I leave multiple tabs open in my browser for days/weeks. For example GQ or IMHO on the dope. When I get home after work, I click the refresh icon to the left of the place where you type the URL.

Lately, I’ll click it, the page will reload, but it’s outdated. For example, just before I started this thread, I refreshed the IMHO tab. Twice. It’s showing the top post as Still tacky to ask for cash as a wedding gift?, with the last post listed as being on June 10, by Count Blucher. So it’s not just reloading a saved page, since it would say the last post was Today, by Count Blucher, even though “Today” was June 10th, not June 12th.

Or maybe it is reloading the old page, but it knows the date, and it also knows the post date?

Come to think about it, I probably refreshed that page yesterday evening, so it’s not even necessarily showing the last time I refreshed that page.

Anyway, why is this happening? More importantly, how do I stop it? Is it likely a SDMB problem, a browser problem, an OS problem, or maybe an ISP name server problem?

I’m running Chromium on Linux Mint (15, I think. The most recent one).

(I recently (several weeks ago) changed settings to openDNS, but I’m almost certain that was under Windows, not under Linux. I can’t even figure out where that setting is listed under Linux right now. It’s not in the router/modem settings, since ATT/Uverse won’t let you make that change in its modem.)

That is strange. It’s certainly the first I’ve heard of it. My experience today has been nothing but smooth. I’m using Netscape Navigator on Windows 95, for what it’s worth.

SDMB has been fricking wonky for me lately. I use Chrome on OS X and have experienced the same thing you have. Today, especially, it’s been nuts.

It’s the board’s problem.
I’ve been having the same issue with Safari on OS X for the last few days.

I recommend that the OP read the announcement called BOARD PERFORMANCE PROBLEMS at the top of the page; hit refresh if you’re not seeing it. Or one of the many threads in ATMB.

Amusingly and perhaps appropriately, it took me three tries to actually get to this post so I could quote it.

That works if the board is behaving somewhat. Most of the time, when I go to any page, it shows me a last post date of 6-10-13, so I’m not getting those “many” threads in ATMB unless I refresh a number of times.

You still using dial-up too? :stuck_out_tongue:

That 14.4k modem is screaming fast.

This is a board problem. Since there are already a bunch of threads in ATMB I’m closing this instead of moving it.
