I get the stupid Tapatalk pop up every time I go to the SDMB now. Also, It no longer remembers my login, and it won’t let me login unless I accept a spammy popup wanting me to “click here” to win a free Samsung tablet. I (reluctantly) set my browser to accept all cookies. I’m using Safari on an iPad.
Are you browsing in incognito mode?
Safari seems to have cookie issues.
We’ve had similar problems in the past and have never been able to figure out exactly what is going on, other than it definitely seems to be a Safari or iOS bug.
We tried to fix it for one of our users by having them enter an exception to block the tapatalk script from running. However, they ended up entering the exception wrong and blocked the entire SDMB instead. Realizing that they made a mistake, they removed the exception, and from then on everything worked fine. Adding the exception and removing it should have gotten them back to exactly where they were before. It shouldn’t have done anything. But it fixed the problem.
Will it work for you? No idea. But you can give it a shot if you want.
Other than that, the only solution I have for you is to poke around and maybe post on the Apple forums and see if anyone there has any bright ideas.
