What's in your CD player right now?

REM - Automatic for the People
Emmylou Harris - Red Dirt Girl
Buffy Saint-Marie - Greatest Hits

I was going for eerie and ethereal but rich.

A dead body.

Wait a second, sorry, I misread “CD player” for trunk. Carry on.

Zen Touch Mp3 player, set to the “Feeling Strange” playlist, which includes:
Eminem
Gorillaz
Within Temptation
Radiohead
Orginals from YTMND
Outkast
Green Day

I’ve been listening to Gogol Bordello’s latest album this week, Super Tantra!

In the house, Cal Tjader’s Cal Tjader’s Latin Concert ( been sitting in there awhile - I haven’t listened to music in the house since the weekend ).

In the car, Johnny Winter’s first album.

Disney’s “Chilling, Thrilling Sounds of the Haunted House,” both the 1964 and 1979 versions.

Home-ripped to CD and on continuous loop until I leave work.

Willie Nelson

6-CD, in the vehicle!

Yeah, I rediscovered MS in my CD pile a week ago…just swapped out Girlfriend, or I’d have 3 in the car!

I still have a CD player in our spare bedroom. I don’t remember when I was last listening to it, but it has Tree by Gaelic Storm in it.

I don’t have a CD player in the car, but on my iTunes on my comp here @ work I’m listening to:

***Exciteable Boy-Warren Zevon
***Rhapsody In Blue-Geo Gershwin (Andre Previn w/London Symphony Orchestra)
***Clock-Through Time
***Big Guns-Best of Rory Gallagher

“Von” by Sigur Ros.

Nothing but air in my CD player. The last thing I listened to on my iPod was White Zombie (it’s Halloween after all!)

Roots of Chicha: Psychadelic Cumbias from Peru (thanks to NPR’s Fresh Air)

I haven’t bought a CD in years.

Last thing I bought from iTunes was the new single from The Killers, “Shadowplay”. It’s okay-ish. Most recent full albums bought have been Sylvie Lewis, Tangos and Tantrums and Translations; Loudon Wainwraight III, Strange Weirdos: Music From And Inspired By The Film Knocked Up; Indigo Girls, Despite Our Differences; Mavis Staples, We’ll Never Turn Back; and Chris Thomas King, Rise.

I was listening to “Begger Man” the other day!

Chris Thomas King singing “St. James Infirmary” just shuffled up on the iPod.

The Gospel Truth by Susan Werner (new! funny! excellent!)
Riches and Pleasures by Heartwood (great guitar work, dynamite voice)
Bursting Out by Oscar Peterson
Greatest Hits by WIllie Nelson
Feels Like Home by Norah Jones
Home in Halifax by Stan Rogers

I can’t actually remember the last time I listened to a CD, but on my iPod right now it’s Cosi Fan Tutte over and over. I’m seeing the thing live on Friday and for some reason I’ve apparently decided to listen to it to the point where I’m sick of it before I get that far. Go figure.

error 404: metaphorical loss by Empusae. I guess you’d call it ambient electronica.

Bat Out of Hell by Meatloaf

In my CD player at the office, it’s the 1991 London Original Cast Recording of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (one of the few Lloyd Weber shows I will listen to.)

In the car, it’s the 2006 Original Cast Recording of Spring Awakening.

Not sure what’s at home in the computer, as I’m currently in the process of transferring all of my CDs to the computer. I think the last one I did was 10,000 Maniacs Unplugged.
