What kind of music are you currently listening to?

I’m just sitting here wondering what everybody is listening to. For what it’s worth, right now I’m playing the “Dark Side of the Moon” album from Pink Floyd; in my car I have “Nirvana: Unplugged in New York”.

Thanks

“Head Hunters” by Herbie Hancock. Classic jazz-funk album.

Led Zeppelin…a thread here got me started again :smack:

An old Ozzfest CD.

Red Snapper.

Right now, i have WinAmp playin this and that, and in my car, i have a semi-local artist

Lately, I’ve listened to a lot of Erasure, The Cure, and a LOT of Dead Can Dance.

Do they just sing, or do you share the driving?

Right now, a cover of “Jolene” by Sisters of Mercy, which is kind of odd.

In my car, Loreena McKennit’s Elemental .

I have 4 Wilco CDs and Graceland in my CD player.

Right now I have loaded in various players Van Morrison, Garbage, and Better Than Ezra.

Right now I’ve got Daydream Nation by Sonic Youth in my stereo. And the last CD I listened to on my computer was Chutes Too Narrow by The Shins.

Started the day with Bach’s Sonatas for viola de gamba and harpsichord, played by Leonard Rose and Glenn Gould on 'cello and piano.

Later on did the 1959 Columbia Symphony Orchestra recording of Beethoven’s Sixth, under Bruno Walter. (I got kids in the house. I might not ever need to hear Beethoven’s symphonies again, but please god someone’s got to think of the children!)

Finally Harmony Hill, the 1993 debut album by the great Sligo trad band Dervish. A little hangover from St. Paddy’s Day, I guess.

Nine Inch Nails, “Downward Spiral”. Reptile just finished.

The oratorio A Child of Our Time, by Sir Michael Tippett, since it’s the next work that my choir will be performing.

in the cd player in my truck:

tapestry, carole king
between the lines, janis ian
the commitments movie soundtrack
anthology, sly and the family stone
home, dixie chicks
from the cradle, eric clapton

Funny, I just popped in to say Led Zeppelin too. Cheez_Whia, are you sending me transcontinental brainwaves again?

Right now, The Wife and Daughter One are working their way through “Rattlin’ Bog” or some other endless traditional song. Not that I mind the strings, but it is keeping me from my recorder practice.

In the car I have just gotten a new Mozart tape and a ‘Best of Flatt & Scruggs’ to go with my Leon Redbone.

Daydream Nation is my favorite SY album. Right now I’m listening to a metal playlist on iTunes. Lacuna Coil just ended, and Fear Factory is on now.

…you practicing the soprano or the alto recorder? Just curious.
