My purse is small because I always have a diaper/tote bag with me for kid stuff. I can only carry so much, I’m not a pack mule! So, in my purse:

My digital camera, PDA and cell phone and my wallet which contains my checkbook, cash, credit and assorted and sundry other cards.

In the small inner pocket:
A trial-sized perfume vial, a tube of Carmex, Tic-Tacs, an emery board, a nailclipper, a pocket comb, a pack of tissues, a vial of Tylenol and spare “emergency change” should I ever need a pay phone.

Messenger bag checking in. Hope you don’t mind.

Binder containing syllabi for all five classes, Purell hand sanitizer (travel size), nail clippers, small jar of Citre Shine pomade (never know when you’ll need to rewax your hair on the fly), Palm Vx, folding keyboard for it, promotional pens for Zoloft and Viagra, MP3 player, several loose batteries (AAA, for the MP3 player), cell phone, Friday USA Today (crossword partially finished), Friday NY Times (crossword spit at angrily), paperclipped printed PDFs for one class, textbook for another class, light reading (Lamb: The Gospel According to Christ’s Childhood Pal, Biff by Christopher Moore), travel mug (empty).

Honest to goodness, I can tell by the contents which ones I would be able to establish enduring friendships with!

Just listing those things that are a little out of the ordinary:

  1. a compass with a a case engraved: “Now, Voyager, sail thou forth to seek and find…” – Walt Whitman
  2. tissues printed with holly and berries
  3. three wristwatches
  4. a monogramed collapsable drinking cup in a leather case
  5. dry spot cleaner
  6. a read floral handkerchief
  7. prescriptions for xanax, topomax, prozac, and provigil
  8. a card with my next appointment with my shrink
  9. a laminated Kershul French language map

My wallet, which contains cash, kids’ medical cards, driver’s license and credit card.

My makeup bag which contains Bath and Body Works lip balm in Warm Vanilla Sugar, a makeup compact containing various little bits of stuff, lipstick, and packets of Splenda.

My coupon organizer which contains. . .my coupons.

Various little slips of paper (mostly debit card receipts).

A pen.

A pair of reading glasses.

My keys clip to the outside of my purse, so they don’t have to take up space inside.
